Looks like a typical Sci-Fi production. A lot of bullshit drama and rescue 911 crap with cheesy CGI and butt-faced aliens.

I'm not the biggest Stargate fan, only catching it in random reruns here and there, but this was decent sci-fi. Very Battlestar type feeling to the whole
production, much harder tone than the typical comedic Stargate stylings but change is a good thing after a decade plus of the same kind of thing.

Well, the premiere sucked. Fell asleep during it, and wasn't impressed when I watched it this morning on DVR. Count me out.

I actually really liked the premiere. I haven't watched much of the Stargate franchise, so I found the show did a good way of introducing the stargate
technology and I enjoyed the plot and some of the characters. That said, I hate the whole concept of the Rush character. I understand why the producers would
want a villain, but the idea of a power struggle doesn't appeal to me. The show is enough riff on BSG without rehashing that particular plot line, and I
can't imagine the writers have it in them to top BSG here.

I know this is early, but IMO this is by far the best incarnation of the Stargate franchise so far...

COMCAST SUCKS!!!!! There is nothing 'Comcastic' about making people pay EVEN MORE to get channels like E! and SyFy.
Ugh... Comcast is blocking the signal to SyFy and E! and whoknowswhatelse in my area. If they can send the signal that says they want me to upgrade to something more expensive, then the can send the dang signal. I watched the first three hours and was quite looking forward to a treat on my TiVo today as a slog thru some work - no dice. Anyways. I quite like this show. The fat, young guy is a great. He's a bit of McKay but with an even more clueless twist. I also like the nubie Lt - the jesus stuff was a bit weird. I think it's best to stay away from recognizable religions - just stirs up too much stuff and you lose the williness to suspend disbelief. The senator's daughter is also good. The english dude's character is pretty uneven - they need to decide where to go with him soon. Overall, I like the cast. It was fun seeing Lou Diamond Phillips. He's in the credits - not sure if they plan to keep him. A bit tricky since he isn't on the ship. Glad to see him employed - he deserves it. I watched the credits pretty carefully and it's nearly all the same names that did SG1 and Atlantis - so I'm not really expecting anything too different than those two shows. You need to shake personnel up if you want to get someting different. Still, I watch both those shows, so I will watch this one. I do agree they are trying a bit too hard to create conflict amongst the crew. They need to figure out a different way to create it - you have to have it - or there's no point. It is an odd concept - I'm surprised SyFy approved it. They basically set up another gilligan's island - it's a closed set with only a set number of folks to create stories with. (With the ship heading fast somewhere - I'm not sure how they will set up anyone for them to interact with.) Still, much worse concepts in TV have suceeded and much better one have failed. I can only wait and see. And for that, I will have to download - URRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!! COMCAST SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! |

Comcast continues to suck - but now SyFy does too. The claim to post full episodes the day after they air. The didn't last week and they haven't this
week. Ugh!!!!!

Ok, I found the silly episode at the SGU MGM site.
Overall, I like this 'new' series. It's a lot of the same old, same old - but, I like the new characters. They are already doing stuff that makes me want to yell at them. But, not so far at the writers. The fact that I'm the only person posting about this show, doesn't really bode well for it, does it. Oh well... Too bad Comcast sucks... |

I watch it but it just does not hold my attention. The drama just feels like it has been done before.
1. the ship is dead: Um no its not, you spent a lot of money on the set and will not let it go 2. 15 people are going to die or the people left behind are going to die: No, because you have series regular on both sides. 3. Geek wants girl, but hot guy does too. What ever will happen. There REALLY needs to be some original movement of the storyline ASAP. At least Voyager set up a villan in the first episode so it was not "woe is me how will we ever get home" or "The ship cant make it" every episode. |

The first few episodes were meh. The third started to get interesting but then didn't really. The fourth was ok but the fifth one from last week was a
complete waste of airtime.
It was totally predictable, boring, slow, the drama seemed incredibly forced and hollow, and it didn't advance the story one bit. The interesting part of the premise is that they are way the fuck out there and it's entirely new game. So far they have just tip toed around this. Five episodes in and it feels like a total let down to me so far. Those little diary sessions are stupid, save those for later and get with the program already. I also hate how they are trying to rip off BSG. They aren't up to the task. They need to forge their own niche or cancel this thing already. |

I enjoy the show. It makes me think what I would do out there.
I'd also be happy to be out there stuck with so many hot chicks. Alaina Huffman, who I always preferred in her brunnette wig on Smallville, looks great as a blonde on this show. Hello Nurse! ![]() ![]()
Julia Benson as "Lt. James and her ginormous 100% natural cans (NSFW)." You just know James is trying to put on a tough veneer, but will need you and let you do miraculous things to her when she eventually succumbs to the pressure.
I'd still crawl a mile on my knees to drink Ming-Na's cleavage sweat:
But, my fave by far is Elyse Levesque. Really pretty, lovely boobs, fantastic hips, and great ass. I can see why the geek's all over her.
Must suck to be a guy working on this show.
I need an Elyse cheesecake photoshoot bad. |

I was a little confused about this weeks show: it started with the hot shot generic army guy having sex with the senator's daughter and latter showed
them talking about how much they meant to each other. When did this story line develop, did I tune out at some point during previous shows? I thought army guy
was banging army girl in the first show and that the daughter had barely interacted with him?

I am enjoying the men of this show. In particular, Justin Louis and LDP.
The chick with the huge rack is fun to watch, too. |
