Party Down - New Starz Comedy By Rob Thomas |
Lead | |
|
Checked the directory and didn't see a thread for this. Veronica Mars fans will probably like Party Down since it's co-created by Rob Thomas along
with John Enbom, Dan Etheridge and Paul Rudd. It stars Ken Marino (Vinnie Van Lowe from VM) and Ryan Hanson (Dick Casablancas from VM),
Jane Lynch (Best in Show, 40 Year Old Virgin), Lizzie Caplan (Mean Girls, True Blood, Freaks and Geeks) Adam Scott (Knocked Up) and Martin Starr (Freaks and
Geeks, Knocked Up). Also for VM fans, Enrico Colantoni guest stars in the first episode. The show is about a bunch of people working for a Party Place while
trying to make it in some aspect of show business.

I've seen a couple of good reviews. I'll definitely be watching.

Yeah it's pretty funny and the cast is great. Enrico Colantoni's hilarious in the pilot. I wish it wasn't just a one-episode role for him.

Yea, Enrico is just doing a guest-spot in the pilot.
This was really enjoyable. Granted, I'm biased (a big fan of RT's work) but this is gonna work well. An outstanding cast, a great concept, and isn't trying too hard to be funny - it just is. I just really hope that they are gonna post every episode online... |

Kristen Bell's going be in the season finale. I haven't subscribed to Starz yet but Party Down has me tempted. Head Case is also a pretty funny show
from what I've seen of it.

Hey! That was a very pleasant surprise. I laughed my ass off more than once.
The premise could get a little stale, but for now I am 100% on board. |

It made me chuckle a couple of times, but overall it did nothing for me. The lack of a score made most of the thing feel downright awkward.

Everytime I see his name, I think, "I didn't know the lead singer to Matchbox 20 could write scripts." Then I think, no wait, this is the
Wendy's guy. Then I realize that's DAVE Thomas. Then I remember Dave Thomas was also one part of Bob And Dave McKenzie in the 80s, but that's not
the Wendy's guy. And then I'm totally confused and lose my train of thought.

I didn't even notice that it doesnt have a score. Does the Office have a score? Are there any other popular comedies that are scoreless?

I have a love/hate thing going with this show. Love it. Hate that I can't drop yet another cable channel due to the love.

What is this? It's like all Veronica Mars characters all the time!

This show is fucking awesome. I love all the interactions between the cater-waiters and the guests at the parties. It's so great seeing all the
'Veronica Mars' alums on the show as well! The added bonus of Lizzy Caplan and Jane Lynch is also quite welcome.
Are we having fun yet?! |

Was it the season finale ? it did looked like it.
This show started slow, but the last 4-5 episodes were hilarious ! |

Loved the finale. Mr Duck is so random. Nice of him to finally come through and pony up cash for Rons dream.
The Sweet Sixteen was the funniest thing I've seen in quite some time. The rappers and Ron talking about Souper Crackers was hilarious! |

I loved how Uta 'pitched' why Henry should date her. Kristen Bell was SO awesome in that part. "This isn't fuckin' baseball, weaselface,
it's catering!" It was a bit of a bummer not to have Constance these past couple episodes but Jennifer Coolidge was a fun addition. lol that they
became roommates after she hit her with her car.
Looking forward to a next season if there is one. It was a bit of a bitch move for Casey to go off on that cruise ship gig after getting Henry to not move back in with his parents in the HS reunion episode. I'm sure her career's going to take off there |

Jane Lynch is officially not returning due to her commitments to 'Glee'. I h.eart both shows, but she will definitely be missed here. I hope they make
it so the Constance became a big celebrity after all these years...by having a sex tape get released, lol. The elderly version of Paris Hilton!
