It's a fair enough point, although I'm not buying completely that Corrinne votes for Matty over Kenny should they both get there, but peer pressure was strong in Ponderosa. However, let's take your alternate reality scenario.

Who said Corinne would vote for Matty? I think if Kenny and Matty were both in the Final 3, Corinne would vote for Kenny over Matty regardless of whether Kenny voted for Matty or Corinne. Of course, that being said, voting off Matty would definitely help his case---but it makes no sense to do that unless he tells Crystal to vote for Matty as well. Otherwise, like I said, he's putting himself in a horrible position.

At Final 7, Kenny and Crystal jump over and vote out Matty. That pretty much ensures a 4-2 battle: Kotas+Kek-�Crystal against Sugar and Susie.

No it doesn't. At final 6, if Matty was voted out and Bob was immune, then Corrine almost definitely goes. Kenny would (or should) see her as a being a bigger jury vote threat than Sugar and Susie, and even in the unlikely event that he chose to target someone else, Sugar would most like take Corinne out with her idol. Kenny might even try to convince Sugar he's voting for Susie to try get her do exactly that, since having Sugar take out Corinne with her idol with be the best case scenario for Kenny. This is what he could do:

1. Tell Crystal and Susie that the vote is going to be for Corinne, but that he's going to tell Sugar they're voting for Susie in the hope that Sugar may use her idol to take out Corinne.
2. Tell Sugar (and also Corinne and Bob) that the vote is for Susie.
3. Have Susie tell Sugar that she thinks she (Susie) is going, and ask if she wants to give her the idol so they can take out Corinne instead.
4. Regardless of whether Sugar says she'll give Susie the idol, Kenny, Crystal and Susie will vote for Corinne.
5. If they don't think Sugar is going to give Susie the idol, they could tell her right before TC that they decided to change to vote to Corinne. This way Sugar votes for Corinne and they're won't be a tie vote between Corinne and Susie.

So what whatever happens, Corinne goes. It's just a question of whether they can take out Sugar's idol at the same time, which would be a double win for Kenny.

In the end, it seemed to me that in a world of normal Survivor players, it was easier for him to get his goats (Susie, Sugar, or Crystal) on the jury by taking the path he took (and taking an ill-advised gamble to get Corrinne's vote) instead of betraying.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this. Certainly Kenny didn't take the path of not betraying Matty---he tried to vote him out at Final 7 and then again at Final 6. And even if he voted off Corinne first, it would be stupid of him to not vote of Matty at some point. Also, as far as jury votes I don't think it makes much difference who he votes off first. Either way I think Corinne votes for him and Matty doesn't. They only difference it might make is if Sugar is on the jury---I think if he voted off Corinne first (as in, both he and Crystal vote for Corinne) then Sugar might have been a little more likely to vote for him. But ultimately I think that as long as he's in a Final 3 with some combination of Crystal, Sugar and Susie he'd be fine.

I might say that this deserves to be lowered and Kenny and Crystal having a strategy to antagonize Matty is the more idiotic move.

I may add that to the list as well, but the Matty/Corinne vote was definitely where he really blew it for himself. I knew he was screwed the moment that vote was read. The business of arguing with Matty just made an already bad situation worse.

I think it decreased his chances of getting to F3 while increasing his chances of winning, if that makes any sense.

What jury vote does he gain by voting for Matty while having Crystal vote for Corinne, and then having Corinne go home? The way he played it not only reduced his chances of getting Matty, Sugar and Susie's votes, but it could have potentially caused him to lose Corinne's vote if she found out that he told Crystal to vote for her. He would have been much better off if both he and Crystal had voted for Matty or if both he and Crystal voted for Corinne. Ultimately I think voting off Matty would have been his best bet because I think that would have helped him get votes from Marcus, Charlie, Corinne and Randy---and I think that's what he was actually intending to do. The problem was that he clearly did believe Corinne and Bob had an idol and that led him to tell Crystal to vote for Corinne.

Which at that point, leaves him in Sugar's strategic position as the one who booted half the jury. Not sure how well that would have gone over, even with Crystal and Sugar sitting next to him (or Susie)

Marcus, Charlie, Corinne and Randy wanted to vote for the person they saw as being the best strategist. The problem with Sugar was that they didn't see her a being a strategist. But judging from their interviews, they all saw Kenny as being a major strategist and would have been willing to vote for him.

It seems kind of odd it's above, just for example, Marcus' blunder of throwing away and immunity idol, alienating Susie by refusing to tell her she'd be F3, and then not checking up to make sure he wasn't going home. That brought him from being, as Crystal put it, the Kota God and one away from the merge to being first jury member.

I don't have Marcus higher because I see him as being the victim of a twist. He made some blunders, but for the most part I think he played a good game and was just unlucky. I also don't have Shii-Ann on the list for the same reason, even though some people have suggested that she should be there.
