25: Anwar Robinson


As I stated in the opener, I did not start watching Idol until Season 4. When this season began, I was very impressed with Anwar. He had a great original audition. He has a very smooth, natural singing voice. I had him pegged as someone who was going to make it very far on the show. When he made it through to the stage of the game where America votes, he had some good performances, and the judges heaped praise on him. Again - I thought he was going to make it far. It wasn't until a couple weeks into the show that I started to lose a little bit of hope in him. He always had the most horrible choice of songs. He sounded good, but the songs were so boring it made me lose interest in him. I could tell he was losing steam, and wasn't going to win. Which he didn't.

Gay, straight, whatever... Anwar makes the list only because he was an original favorite of mine. Plus I couldn't think of anyone else who deserved a spot in the top 25. Not to say he didn't have some good performances. See the first Youtube video at the bottom of this post. Good job Anwar!

24: Melinda Doolittle



When I first saw Melinda Doolittle's original audition, I thought she was going to suck. She's really ugly and awkward. She has a no neck, hunchback thing going on which is kind of weird. However, as soon as she started singing I was taken aback. Gurl can sang! She's got one of the best female voices I have ever heard on the show. The thing I didn't like about her though, was that although she had a good voice, her choice of song always sucked ass. I wanted so much to love her but I almost always was bored to death by her performances.

The judges pimped her repeatedly every week, and she made it all the way to the F3 having never been in danger once. Then Blake and Jordin both shockingly upset her by getting more votes and knocking her out of the competition. Originally I was happy because Blake made it through another round, and I like rooting for the underdogs. But that only paved the way for a Jordin win. I would have much preferred a Melinda win to a Jordin win. Jordin bored me to *%%#* and did not make the list. At least Melinda had a unique voice and interesting personality. My favorite performance of hers is the second Youtube clip down there.

23: Jessica Sierra


Nothing says ownage like Jessica Sierra. When the show started, I thought she was pretty boring and I usually channel surfed during her performances. It wasn't until a few weeks in until I started noticing her. Vocally she was one of the more talented girls on Season 4. Personality wise though, she just never stood out. My favorite performances of hers are Broken Wing and Total Eclipse of the Heart.

Where she really earns points with me is the sex tape. OMG! An American Idol contestant with a sex tape. Epicness. Of course I downloaded it. Perhaps if she had been a more popular contestant this would have been a bigger story. The sex tape alone was enough to push her from being on the bubble of this list to #23. Good job Jessica Sierra! Your plan worked out.

I'll do a few more tonight when I am back on the computer. I highly doubt Clubs is getting closed. And if it does get closed in the middle of this list, WTF ever. It's just a ranking thread. I'm not rushing through this.


#19: Alaina Whitaker


With the exception of Nick Mitchell, Alaina is the earliest boot to appear on the list. OMG! This girl was so robbed. Perhaps the most robbed contestant in Idol history. She had it all - good looks, an adorable personality, and a great voice. She was going to be even better than Farmbot if only she had made it past the second round. I was crushed when she got voted off.

Her first performance wowed the judges and made her stand out to the viewers at home, myself included. It was probably the best performance of the night. Her next performance I thought was good. But the judges thought it was boring, and America agreed. Ugh! If they ever allow early boots to come back, or have a second chance season, this girl needs to be brought back, no doubt.
