The Cast
Handsome, cocky and smart, Steve Ward is America's maestro of love. His brutally honest approach to matchmaking is what has made him and his mother Joann Ward one of the most successful matchmaking teams in the country. Steve has the balls to tell women not what they want to hear, but what they need to hear to find love. The series revolves around a "Tough Love Bootcamp," where Steve works with a group of eight single, attractive women living together in a house for eight weeks to change their dating ways. Steve guarantees that if they follow his rules then by the end of the eight weeks they will be ready for love. But there's a method to Steve's madness. Steve's methodology consists of his rules of dating. Steve's rules are bold, insightful, and often hilarious. But most of all they offer an unapologetic glance into the male mind. The core of the series is Steve revealing the truth about what men really think when it comes to dating and women. The women in this bootcamp are desperate and single, but can't figure out why. The cast is composed of classic archetypes of the single woman: the 'too much too soon' romantic, the 'gold digger', the 'fixing the wrong guys' victim, the late 30's "Lone Ranger'. To call the women out on their issues, Steve labels each woman with a moniker that correlates to her main problem. From "Miss Picky," the woman who is too caught up in a list of impossible expectations, to "Miss Wedding-Obsessed," the girl that tells guys on their first date she's looking to be married within a year. From ex-boyfriends to intimacy to communication, every episode's theme is a class in dating 101 and is illustrated with loud challenges that force our ladies outside their comfort zones. Whether it's the ladies getting zapped by an ankle bracelet when they bring up inappropriate topics on a date in an episode on TMI, bringing back their exes to meet their new boyfriends, or learning how to pose in lingerie in an episode on sex, Steve teaches and tests the women. Once through the lesson, the ladies are sent out on dates with men hand-picked by Steve out of his pool of hot, eligible men. While the women are out on their dates, Steve is doing reconnaissance on the ladies, in order to better help them. From meeting a girl's ex she can't seem to get over, to meeting another one's father to better understand her Daddy issues, or sitting down with the best friend to get the real story on why the last relationship crashed and burned -- Steve is collecting data and making judgments along the way of the work he's got cut out for him to find their match. Over the course of the eight episodes, we'll see our love-lorn ladies be put through the paces -- and come out the other side transformed. Some will graduate, others will struggle to break old dating habits, and along the way Steve will be challenged to match the toughest cases of his career. Steve Ward. You may not like his rules, but if you want to find true love you gotta face the truth and follow 'em. |
