So... I rarely cook at home. As a result, most nights I end up going out to eat or ordering. This may be a rip off of SoA's thread (http://survivorsucks.yuku.com/topic/32848?page=2, couple posts down) but as you will see, he and I have very different tastes.
I will start out with some honorable mentions. A few places not good enough to crack this elite list of mine.
I've been to this place twice, and both times I have come away impressed. They have an amazing selection. And both times, everything I got tasted delicious and extremely fresh. But.... as I said, I have only been there twice. I have to go out of may way quite a bit to find one of these. If there was one in my immediate vicinity that I could frequent often this place would for sure be on my list.
I'm not very picky when it comes to pizza. A few pizza places cracked the top 20. Why didn't Pizza Hut? One word: variety! Keep in mind: I haven't tried any of those pasta dish thingies that they have started making recently. While I may not picky when it comes to pizza, I do like getting appetizers and other kinds of good things on the side. Pizza Hut has never been famous for that. So I usually end up ordering from somewhere else. It *almost* made the list because I have fond memories of the pizza buffet they had at lunchtime back when I was a kid. Why the fuck don't they do that anymore?
This may be controversial but I have never been a massive Wendy's fan. People always orgasm over their burgers, but I don't think there is anything special about them compared to burgers you can get everywhere else. The variety is good I guess. But this place has just never wowed me.
I like fried chicken just as much as the next black man. I always enjoyed this place. There was one across the street from an old job of mine and I would often go over for lunch. But after recently having some waaaaaay better chicken at a couple other places to appear on the list... I realized that Popeye's only plays second fiddle to the fried chicken heavyweights of the universe.
Consider this DIS-honorable mention. I fucking hate Subway. This is seriously the most overrated sub shop in the history of the planet. How this place has gotten so big and popular I have no idea. I never once have ever enjoyed anything I got here. I think it is the sucky bread. Or the fact that they skimp on the ingredients. And that they don't have a good/interesting variety of subs. And their sandwiches are overpriced and too small. Ugh. I just don't like Subway. And I never will!
