What I got from that last scene was that the plane did crash, as soon as it did though they were flashed to the same time as the other survivors did. I'm guessing that Locke did get the island to stop flashing through time and the survivors plus Daniel, Miles, ect are all stuck in the past because they were in the past when Locke spun the wheel. So the plane has crashed, but a decade or so ahead of where our castaways are in time. This would explain why we've seen Jin and Daniel in Dharma suits. It looks as though they have been trapped in the past and had to assimilate into the Dharma initiative to get by. It would explain Daniel being able to warn Charlotte when she was a child too.
Flight 316 broke in half (like 815 did) and the front half landed in a completely different place than the tail section...having completely different experience on the island?
And if the Island is still acting a bit wonky time warp wise, the front half could have "landed" in the 70's Dharma era while the talies (and water bottles!) landed in more of a "present" version of the Island?
