It had no magic at all. A lot of it seemed kind of rigged, although little Nate Robinson managed to somewhat fuck that up for them.
The game tonight looked like high school players. There didn't seem to be much pride on the part of a lot of the players; it was like they were doing us a favor to be there. It didn't have any of that selfless 'help the other guy shine' kind of spirit to it. Just Kobe trying to hog the whole thing like usual (10 shots in the first quarter). At least Shaq was sort of funny. And a tie for MVP? Considering that it was supposed to be fan voting, and that there were probably thousands and thousands of votes, what is the likelihood of a real tie? The NBA and TNT didn't even make an attempt to disguise the whole 'rigged' feeling of it.
And by the way, John Legend (real name Stephens) SUCKED. This clown sings sharp (fingernails on a blackboard sharp) and sounds like a billy goat. And the Spanish-singing guy --- nice V-necked undershirt. Real stylish.
