I had no idea that edgic picked 3rd place. If the anti-Erinn types had given Shamrocks a few props, maybe they wouldn't feel the need to speak up.
Yes, I know Erinn wasn't the "official" pick for most of them, but why keep mentioning the fact that someone came in 3rd? It's tedious.
It's a myth that there is One Player given a Unique Winner's Edit every season. Usually 2 or 3 endgame players get special editing. Sometimes multiple players closely fit edgic guidelines, sometimes none fit them well (Gabon).
Thus, seeing early on that Erinn and Stephen had something that Branden\Tyson\Jerry didn't is part of edgic. Because the winner is just one among several key players tyically given winner-like editing.
Baseball Analogy:
Picking a winner is a bit like deciding whether a curveball or fastball is coming down the plate. JT was a fastball, we mostly guessed curve, we were wrong.
Curveballs make for more interesting seasons and editing analysis. But a steady diet of them becomes predictable.
Sometimes they have to throw it straight down the middle to keep us honest. Otherwise "misdirection": becomes an obvious giveaway.
