It's the same as Craig's: "9 N, 6 neut, 4 M" for Parvati. She has more neutrals than Ns, so she's neutral, and she has more neutrals
than Ms, so she's mixed, despite neutral being doubled by people who thought she had at least SOME negative tone.

Final ratings from me:
Carolina - CPN Candace - MORN Jerry - MORP Sandy - OTTM Spencer - MOR Sydney - UTR Joe - UTR Brendan - MOR Tyson - OTTN Sierra - MORM Debbie - UTR Coach - OTTN Taj - MORP Erinn - MOR Stephen - CP JT - CPP Not going to argue them, going by my charts most of these are obvious choices. The hardest ones are for the girls who spent large portions of the season as UTR but still made an impact at some point. |

And as far as the episode-by-episode ratings go for Erinn this season, there clearly was some bias from "Shamrock-haters" pretty much through the
entire season, and it was certainly more than any bias from the Shamrocks themselves at the voting site. The main problem was mixing "ratings" and
"visibility". I think that everyone agrees that Erinn's season-long visibility was lower than average. But she certainly deserved some more
CP2s and MOR2s than she actually got.

Final ratings are ridiculously unimportant to Edgic. They're really not worth getting worked up over, guys. |

What Unduli said. I really can't get too worked up over final ratings, given that I have no idea what they mean or how they're calculated - or the
fact they have little to do with edgic's purpose: to figure out the winner. If it was all post-mortem analysis of the winner's edit and the various
loser's edit, that's cool.
But it does seem to be fun for some of y'all. That's cool too. Sort of a "let's try and stay involved til Samoa comes our way." So what are you guys doing for the summer that's interesting? |

I'm going for a vacation in Cedar Point! I'm in Vancouver Canada (West Coast) so a bit apprehensive about the long flight to northern Ohio, but
I'll last.

This summer? Who knows. But in the past 5 months I've been living in Cyprus and went to Egypt, the U.K., Hungary, Slovakia, Belgium, Germany, France, Czech
Republic, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. So... I'm broke for the summer haha. And back in the U.S. =(
And I know final ratings are unimportant, yet everyone took the liberty of raking my ass over the coals for my final ratings last season. |

Instead of arguing over meaningless final ratings, Edgic should be more concerned with the fact that it has flubbed 3 of the past 4 seasons.
Maybe the time would be better spent fine tuning the guidelines for next season - getting rid of the ones that don't work and adding new ones that might work better. |

Well, I asked the question. I'm hiking the Kalalau Trail on Kauai (I've wanted to do it for years!) and thinking of doing a kayak of the Na Pali coast
also hey, if Coach could kayak for 75,000 miles I could do 18. That, plus my standard week of hiking in the northern rockies.
Missed 3 of last 4? Todd, Parv were picked. Bob, JT weren't. Before that, Aras, Yul, and Earl were all picked. The problem was IMO the selection of Stephen over JT (Bob was so far away from edgic guidelines it's ridiculous). There is nothing to learn from Bob's win. JT's however is intriguing. Was it a Tom win? Sure looks like it, so why were we (meaning: I) fizated on Stephen over JT? That is worthy of discussion. |

How can Erinn be P overall with a tone average of just 0.117? Debbie, Brendan, and Sierra have higher tone averages, why aren't they P? Just because she has more P episodes doesn't mean she's more P than someone who has fewer.1) That may reflect that we have a dedicated minority of Erinn haters who gave her M or N when the majority voted Por M. They are like the folks who wanted to give Parv 6 N's for FvF. 2) Debbie ending OTTN3 and CPM4 (a mixed tending N) at least balances her two Ps, one of which was an early Low Vis episode (UTRP2). OTTN is more impactful than UTRP, regardless of tone averages. Brendan had some weak P early which didn't register in an edgic majority vote, but his exit was toneless at best. Same way Sierra's only P was ep.1, and she went out with 2 M's tending towards N. Erinn, on the other hand, got more P towards the end - Ep 10 & 11 MORP. Then she got an undeserved N by one vote for ep.12, and was more P then N in the finale.

craig wrote:Wait, so the Erinn HATERS can't be trusted, but the group that said that the merge was split into two episodes in order to make her not edgically eliminated CAN? Erinn had only one P that wasn't due to the game (sending her to Exile by herself and the family reward). She had the N in the penultimate episode, which was legit due to SPV about how stupid and annoying and rude her comment to Coach was. And the finale, she got that same SPV from super-positive JT. |

Then she got an undeserved N by one vote for ep.12, and was more P then N in the finale. That's complete bias. You go with the official ratings for everyone, but then suddenly use what you feel for Erinn was your argument. You can't do that. How do you know if any of the other ratings for people were close calls, but you fail to address that? How do you know if Debbie's M was deserved? You are the epitome of B I A S. |

Breakdown of Erinn's tones with her visibility (to scale how MUCH tone was shown) and made her Finale rating M:
5: Never happened 4: Mixed 3: Positive, Neutral, Mixed 2: Neutral, Neutral, Neutral, Neutral, Neutral, Positive, Positive, Negative 1: Neutral Total tones (I made Mixed .5 Positive and .5 Negative): P: 4 Neutral: 7 N: 2 If I make P worth 1, Neutral worth 0, and N worth -1, that averages to... 0.15 and I wouldn't give someone a P unless they were at least 0.3 or 0.4! She was not positive, and my "hate" for Erinn comes from the silly winner contending, but not her as a character, player, or what she deserves as overall tone based on what the editors insisted. Editors didn't make her the P underdog they could have been. To say JT calling her annoying reflected positively on her is so funny (because that's bullshit). She was treated badly on Timbira, but that's about it. |

This, coupled with the complete lack of irony in the story being told, suggests a much more straight-forward, take-it-at-face-value editing approach for the future. The Kalalau Trail on Kauai? Sounds magnificent! You could even film a movie there if you find a bridge and a river in Kauai! Seriously, it sounds great. You should one day explore the Australian wilderness. |
