Here's what I do:


Download MIRC

Install

Start it up


Okay, I'm not sure if I remember the exact order and boxes and all that, but you want to connect to EFnet. Choose "Random Server" or whatever's closest to you (They have one in Orlanda I use, since I'm in FL).

You'll want to join:

#Big-Brother

This room isn't for chatting or spoilers - JUST Downloading shows (Big brother and LOTS of other Reality Shows too)

Okay, the next part is the sucky part because it took me FOREVER to figure this out.


Go to Tools>Options

Then select "DDC" and then "Ignore"


All of these files are AVI, so you'll want to choose under Method - Accept Only - and then "Add" *.avi to that list.

If you don't do this, your MIRC will not allow the DLing of the avi files.


Then you're gonna want to type in:

/ctcp NY2 BBActive

to bring up NY2's file server thingie.

In the private message window type:

dir
(to see the file directory)

then:

cd BB10UK
(to move to the BB10UK directory)

then you can dir again to see more directorys... the only one for now is DAY 00-, so type in:

cd DAY 00-

and then you can "dir" again to see what's in there.

Highlight the show you want and without letting go of the mouse button CTRL+C to copy it (letting go of the mouse button causes the text to unhighlight - so annoying!!!)

and then type in:

get

and copy and paste the show you want after that. And then a dialog box will pop up asking if you really want the file and then where you want to DL it to on your computer.

YAY! YOU DID IT!


The other way (which ACTUALLY might DL faster, and is the way I do it):

There are bots in the room that constantly spew out stuff ...

Just simply type in whatever it says to type. So, if I wanted Big Brother Denmark's daily from May 29th, I would type in:

/msg bblbot xdcc send #1

and the dialog box asking me where to save it would pop up.


AND THAT"S IT! YAY ME!


ETA: I did that every day at work last year. YAY ME.

ETA AGAIN: If you have trouble DLing or finding the stuff, I wouldn't ask in that room. I don't know if people get banned for chatting or not, but I've seen people get kicked out upon entry for not following the rules of that room. You could probably join #big-brother-chat and ask there for help - that is the Chat Friendly one.
