My son took his girlfriend to the concert in Pittsburgh and he was convinced that Jason was stoned out of his mind. They also loved Michael Johns and Carly. Brooke - not so much. I was also told that David Cook wore too much smeared eyeliner.

Went last night in Hartford.
Ramiele and Kristy were forgetable. Went to get beer when Kristy was on. David Cook who I thought was good on the show, wasnt that good live. The hair and make up were distracting. And he screamed a lot. David A was about what I expected. Boring and boring. Brooke who I couldnt stand on the show, was really rather good. The Australian guy was better than Cook. (Brook and the Australian guy went to the Neil Diamond show together the night before- was he on the show with them or am I thinking of someone else? I was surprised to hear they had to hang around Hartford for a whole day since theres nothing at all to do) I loved Jason but I agree, he seemed stoned. CArly and Chickezie were very good. Oh Syesha, the crowd loved her. Went to pee when she was on. I expected more from the group sing. I tried to rush my people out the door when the first lame song was over and was surprised that it was the last song. So why wasnt a group CD for sale? I havent seen it in Walmart yet so figured I could get it for my kid at the concert. Whats up? |

eatnsleep's concert sounds a lot like mine (or maybe our tastes are just simular), except that I wasn't impressed by Brooke. Nobody's ever actually
said what DID happen to the compilation CDs. The one for the 5th season, which was the last one made, sold just fine so declining sales weren't the reason.
Having no CDs for sale at a concert with 7000 Idol fanatics who'd willingly shell out money for them is really stupid.

In Season 6 they started releasing studio versions of the performances each week for sale on their website and then on iTunes which made the need for an actual
CD pretty much nil.

I was there last night and I am pleased they went back to the old format.
First off, Jacuzzi was pretty good. A little forgettable but he was def underrated. Ramiele was boring as hell. The audience was totally bored and they were sitting down even on like upbeat songs. She sings so damn well and has absolutely ZERO charisma. Michael went under the radar. He was good with his songs but by the end of the night I think everyone forgot about him. The audience's reception to Kristy was lukewarm at first. 2/3 of her songs were kind of boring and random. However, after "God Bless the USA" the entire crowd was on their feet for her. She then mentioned that she didn't get her horse back and that she loves the Green Bay Packers. She also talked about being a bottom 3 Goddess (she actually said Bottom 3 Queen but w/e). Carly was easily the most popular girl. I think out of everyone, maybe aside from the final 2, she did the best job of captivating the audience throughout her three set performance. She looked friggin gorgeous and she sang beautifully. I wish she would have started "Crazy on You" acapella on the show like she did last night. It was just amazing, she was probably vocally the best of the night. Brooke was another snooze. Random, forgettable, and boring. She really didn't seem to have many fans and I was kind of surprised by that. Her "Let it Be" was no where near as good as it was on the show. Jason had a large number of fans, like almost as much as the Davids. However, he lost the audience about halfway through the first song. People were sitting down, off taking a break, and having random conversations. I enjoyed his "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" but the other 2 were kinda meh. Syesha then came out looking smoking. She had a lot of fans too. She kind of lost the audience towards the end of Umbrella. Although the entire crowd was shouting "EH EH EH EH" with her. "If I ain't got you" and she randomly yelled "YOU GUYS ARE SO SILENT TONIGHT!" The next performance was hands down, no question whatsoever, the best performance of the night. At the end of the performance, everyone rose out of their seat and gave her a huge ovation for like five minutes. Archie then came out and of course all the fucking fangirls were making me deaf. He was rather boring, I can't even remember the name of the first song he sang. My radio station was saying his "Apologize" showed why he should have won, but I disagree. He tried dancing in "Stand By Me" and it was pretty laughable. He really showed how inexperienced he is. Jordin Sparks was awful at handling the big crowd last year, and he was ten times worse. David Cook obvs had a lot of fans. I had a pair of horny fraus sitting in front of me pouting like babies the entire night until he came out. I have to say, for a winner, he really underwhelmed. I think the audience was cheering for him because he was the winner, had nothing to do with talent. Hell, even the crowd loved Taylor Hicks. He was extremely forgettable and it seemed like everyone song he was doing the same thing. *stand center stage and sing holding mic stand, move to the left and throw a pic, pound on the guitar like an arrogant douche, go to the right and throw a pic* He also looked like he has been packing on a few pounds. I really liked his Aerosmith song. He let the audience sing with and it reminded me of the movie "Sweetest Thing" where Cameron Diaz is singing the song where her friend is "stuck" and the entire audience joins in, except David wasn't as good as that epic moment. |

Weird that you say David looked like he put on some weight. I've been looking at pictures from the tour recently and to me he's looking like he's
losing weight.

Yeah, no way Cook is packing on weight. He's WAY thinner than he was, even at the end of the show.
He looks smokin' btw. |

Cook said so himself he's lost 20 lbs. And it shows.

Maybe it was the tight shirt he was wearing, because it certainly looked like it to me. He definately wasn't anywhere near being the lardass he was when he
auditioned, but he still looked lil pudgy to me.
You're referring to Listen as the best performance of the night, right? I'm so proud of her.Yup :) She defo brought down the house. It was like Lakisha's "I Will Always Love You" last tour. It was just fucking magic. |

Even aside from the obvious fact that most of the season 6 finalists weren't all that great to begin with, many of them underwhelmed me when I saw them
live, including Lakisha, Melinda, Haley, Sanjaya, and Chris Sligh. In the show I was at the five of them all seemed to sing about one song apiece, none very
well. Blake & Chris Richardson basically hijacked the whole tour, for better or worse (I hated Chris R as a contestant, but he was a good live performer).
I don't remember a whole lot of people in Sucks raving about Lakisha on the tour, but I liked her fine on the show (her Diamonds Are Forever is one of the
great forgotten performances of the season) and I'm glad somebody else remembers her--she's hardly ever mentioned these days.
I wasn't hugely impressed with Listen, but I loved Syesha's version of I Ain't Got You. It's a really tough song to sing (Alicia Keys herself can barely hit the high notes) but she did it very well. However, the crowd only gave her moderate applause. Of the various female finalists, it seems like it's the rocker women who generally do best on the tours (Gina did pretty well last year, Carly seems to have made the best overall impression of the women on the tour this year). |

Gina was and will never be a rocker.

There has NEVER been a rocker on Idol that sucksters haven't accused of being a phony and not a real rocker (including Bo, Chris Daughtry, and David Cook).
Simon calls this the "sheep in wolf's clothing" effect: the idea that a REAL rocker would never appear on Idol, because they'd be selling
out. Sometimes these accusations have merit and do stick (i.e. Constantine), sometimes they don't. I agree that Gina sometimes appears to be a kid's or
middle aged adult's idea of what a rocker SHOULD look like, rather than the real thing, but that doesn't mean she ISN'T the real thing. I think she
just has tacky taste. Try rewatching her version of Call Me When You're Sober and you might reconsider.

If by "real", you mean "real poseur", then I agree.
What bothers me about her is that, she went into AI with a forced rocker image and just came across fake and affected - "LOOK AT ME! I'M THE TOKEN ROCKER CHICK!" when clearly she isn't. Black-dyed hair, making rock gestures at the camera , and wearing a tounge-ring does not make a rocker. Her phoniness showed during her abysmal performance of "Paint It Black" by The Rolling Stones on British Invasion night - a song she has never heard of and had no idea to emote. If she remained true to herself (a pop singer), then I'd have no problem with her. |

If Gina really was a true rocker chick there is no way she would have sung what she did on the show. Bitch fucking please. I would hate Gina a lot less (okay
not really, only a little less) if she wasn't so fake. You sung fucking Celine Dion.
Back to Syesha though. At the concert in Toronto I was really surprised with the reception she got from the audience, Jason, Syesha and the two Davids were definitely Canada's favs. Syesha got almost as much applause her as the two Davids, even after the twat thanked us for voting for her. |

Of course Syesha would have a lot of fans in Toronto. As much as you CI tards like to claim "ZOMG, Canada likes mostly rock and quirky people, yay!"
the CI viewing/voting audience and who the CI judges like to put through are not necessarily representative of Canada as a whole, much less Toronto. In Canada,
AI averages 2-3 million viewers, probably twice as much as CI.

^^^ I don't watch CI simply because the singers SUCK. They're terrible, I would never buy their albums nor support their careers in any way. Sometimes
AI will hit the nail on the head and find the perfect talent, Yelly, Cook, etc but CI never does besides Eva maybe.

If you don't watch CI how would you know the singers suck. You'd have to watch it each season to find out.
