Holidays




Holidays would actually be much higher on the list if i had my way, but unfortunately my tiny little family (which just consists of my mom and step-dad) don't really do anything for the holidays. Usually Christmas, my birthday...consist of me being told to buy what I want online, and that's it really. Hardly the true holiday spirit. I have always wanted a real holiday atmosphere, turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, a Christmas tree on Christmas, Fireworks on 4th of July. All that sort of stuff. And I have vowed one day when I do have a family, I will go all out for every single holiday....and give my kids what I never had growing up.

When I lived in Maryland with Amanda and her family for that year, it was really the first time I experienced the way normal families celebrate those kind of things. And it was more amazing than I even imagined. Waking up Christmas morning, opening presents...then going over to her dad's house for dinner. It was quite remarkable. Also I remember for Easter, me and Manda snuck out of the house when everyone fell asleep and went to Walmart and bought gifts for her little brother and siter for when they woke up. It was such a wonderful moment, and something I will never forget.

This year, despite my Christmas day being as uneventful as all the rest, my holiday spirit was slightly improved thanks to my newest love Jennifer. We went to see Christmas movies, and baked Christmas cookies, and got each other presents and walked in the snow and all those things. So although I didnt get to do anything on the actual day, it was still good progress.

Moving on however, to my favo holiday of all.....Halloween. I love scary, dark things in general. You will see that as we go on in the list, so it's natural for Halloween to be my favorite. Horror movies, costumes, things that go bump in the night, the weather, everything about it is perfect. I used to love trick or treating, and I always had the best costumes, cause I was creative and didn't just buy something right off the shelves.

My favo Halloween memory, was also in Maryland, we went to this epic haunted field on Halloween night and you had to walk throughout a maze with things jumping out at you. But you walked in little groups of like 10, so you were with some strangers....which made it even more fun, cause it was just like you were in your own horror movie. We had a festive black couple in our group who were laffos. I of course took control and got us all out of the maze quickly and safely....cause that's just how I roll.


As far as birthdays go, it's another one i don't usually do much for. I find with birthdays, all the attention is on you, and that's something I always avoid if at all possible. I'd rather just spend my birthday with like one person I care about, rather than a group of people. I never did the whole birthday party thing, even as a little kid. I preferred to just go shopping for presents. However, the best day of my life, did come on my 19th birthday. It was when me and Amanda were first together, we had such a wonderful day. We packed a picnic, went to the park, sat on the grass, read some magazines, fed ducks. It was nothing too extravogent, but it was so peaceful and nice. I'll remember it till the day i die. When we were done, we went home, took a nap and then watched Hell's kitchen. The perfect night.

Goosebump Books





Not so much anymore, but back in the day, these used to be an obsession of mine. I'd wait anxiously for the next one to come out and get it the day it did. I was a proud member of the Goosebump fanclub and they'd always send me neat little things. One of which was a light plate holder that glowed in the dark. I am yet to replace it to this day, and it is still displayed prominantly in my room. As I discussed while talking about Halloween, I love all things that are dark, eerie and scary. And although not many of the Goosebump books were truly frightening, they were almost all extremely interesting. Plus their shocking endings always made me want to finish as quick as possible.

Random Louie fact: I have bad OCD. So I always had the problem of when I wanted to read them randomly...i'd want to go in order. Because of this I have read the first few like a hundred times, and read the later ones only maybe once or twice. I still have everyone somewhere in the basement, I should go find them and read them again for old time sake.

There will never be a better series of books in my mind, they are classic, and I adore them
