Jenn: Oh my god! This is insane.
...And some of the emotional turmoil teams have to go through.
Mike: Oh my god! I can't do this! I'm gonna die.
Mark: We're so dead.

TEAM PREVIEWS + INTRODUCTION
-----------------------------------------------------
Phil: Im standing in beautiful Piedmont Park, the central park of Atlanta, Georgia. From this breath-taking park, located in Midtown Atlanta, 12 teams will embark on a race around the world, for one million dollars. Each team is made up of 2 people with a pre-existing relationship. The 12 teams are...
Phil: Henry & Florence, great grandparents hoping to break all stereotypes that all elderly teams will do badly in the race.
Florence: For the past seasons of The Amazing Race, most of the old people team never makes it past the Final 6, one of this exception is Meredith & Gretchen, from Season 7.
Henry: We really look up to them and hope that our running this race will be able to match their achievement, if not better it. We believe our age and experience will outweigh our physical disadvantages because of our age.
Florence: There should be no underestimation of us. Were here to win and we will not be satisfied till we do and we will keep fighting for that coveted prize.
---
Phil: Jessica & Ashley, doctors, and best friends since childhood
Jessica: Ashley & I are definitely career-minded women. However, we do not neglect issues like our physical fitness and our love life. We have achieved a lot and we are both married with happy families. In fact, both of us are successful, professional doctors.
Ashley: One of the main objectives we have come onto this race is of course to win the one million dollars. But another reason is to prove that career-minded women can have balanced life and can be equally capable and happy in their lives.
---
Phil: Mike & Mark, father & son, hoping to close the relationship gap between them.
Mark: To be utterly honest, I have never really liked my Dad. When I was a child, he neglected the family and concentrated on his career. It was a hard childhood and it wasnt easy without the proper presence of a father.
Mike: I really do feel remorseful for what Ive did and thats why I decided to join the race; to try and make up for the mistakes I had done and possibly bond with my son and bring us closer together. Money is only secondary now and what matters is our Father-Son relationship.
---
Phil: Dorothy & Lauren, the races very first grandparent/ grandchild team.
Lauren: Most people are not close with their grandparents but Im definitely not one of them. Ive lived with my grandmother for my entire life and I love her more than anything. In this race, she will definitely be my utmost priority but we will stop at nothing to win it.
Dorothy: Its inevitable that my old age will add burden to the team due to the physical disadvantage. But I can definitely make it up in more than sufficient ways. Therefore, there is no reason why Dorothy & I cant win the race.
---
Phil: Michael & Tiffany married for 24 years, perhaps one of the races smartest pair of contestants
Michael: Tiffany and I have been married a long time now. And we both know our capabilities very well and we complement each other excellently. Not to boast but both Tiffany & I are highly intelligent people.
Tiffany: Being in our late 40s, physical activities are definitely not going to be our forte. But challenges that require the brain, the need for strategies as well as navigation will definitely help us surge ahead in the race.
---
Phil: Jenn & Nicole, girlfriends, and the races first ever lesbian team.
Jenn: Its not everyday you see two hot babes kissing each other.
-laughs-
Nicole: Haha, well. Jenn & I are madly in love with each other but we know a race is a race and we have no doubts that we can be the first All-Female team to win it.
Jenn: We have the brains, the brawns and each other. Thats all thats enough for each other and yeah I dont see why we cant win.
---
Phil: Jeffrey & Ryan, lifelong best friends, yearning for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel around the world
Ryan: To put it roughly, were just 2 broke bachelors that have NEVER flown out of the United States before. It is just that sad!
Jeffrey: We really dont expect ourselves to win the race, but we do expect to at least last a few legs to see the world and have fun while were at it.
---
Phil: Bryan & Kyle, boyfriends, hoping to prove to their friends and families that they are meant to be.
Kyle: Bryan & I had to go through a lot just to be together. And right now, people are still skeptical about our relationship and insisting that it will not last long.
Bryan: It really doesnt make sense to me and sometimes I wish people could just shut their traps up. Anyway, were here to prove to those people, as well as the world, that we can do what others can do and both of us are fated to be with each other.
---
Phil: Jason & Nicholas, brothers who have been long-separated due to their divorce.
Nicholas: Jason & I were split up when we were 4. I lived with my mom and Jason, with our Dad. We barely get to meet each other once per year and for more than 20 years, weve been alien to each other.
Jason: But the race is the race and we can and definitely will win the race and even if we have to do some scheming and cunning stuff, we will...
Nicholas: Jason is more of the ruthless person while I actually possess a conscience. So, Ill keep him in check.
Jason: Yeah right.
---
Phil: Melissa & Sean, stepmom and stepson, hoping to make a statement that the stepparent-child relationship is not always the fairy-tale stereotype of cold-heartedness.
Melissa: Its definitely disturbing to see so many instances where there is this stereotype that a Stepmom has to be ruthless and uncaring for his stepson. Its total nonsense in my opinion.
Sean: My mom is really the angel of angels and takes care of me for the past 20 years, excellently. The stereotype is definitely nonsensical and yeah. Basically were here not only to win but to prove this fact.
---
Phil: Brandon & Alexa, recently dating backpackers who have traveled all around the world several times
Brandon: This will certainly not be something new to us. Were so used to traveling and we know all the little tricks in airports as well as the techniques in navigation and suitable interaction with the locals.
Alexa: What Im most worried about is the fact that our relationship could be dramatically changed after the race. Weve been starting to have tiffs here and there and theres no doubt that its probably gonna turn uglier in the race.
Brandon: I certainly hope not!
---
Phil: Thomas & Zoey, father & daughter
Thomas: Zoey and I have established a friend-like relationship instead of a strict father-daughter one and we believe it will benefit us strongly in the race as we know each other too well.
Zoey: Its definitely surreal to be able to get on the show and dad & I will definitely strive to do what we can to be the first parent/child team to make it into the Final 3, and hopefully win!
---
Phil: Can the teams withstand more than 30 days of traveling around the world with one another. And more importantly, which team will muster the right combination of brains and brawn to win the one million dollars? Which teams will muster the right strategy to cope with the changes of the format in the race? Which 9 teams will fail to cope with the toughest race yet and be subsequently eliminated? These are the questions waiting to be answered, as we get ready to begin... The Amazing Race!
