Posts: 264 04/30/12 01:03 AM More Recent Posts	Apparently today there was some heated drama between Sahara, Manila, and Sharon. A reporter (Zach Stafford) tweeted Sahara about an alleged post where Sharon called Sahara the effing n-word in a private group on Facebook. (The image is not real, it's a doctored image from Facebook, I must make this clear.) He then linked to the 'image' of the conversation, which led Sahara and Manila to explode in a bit of a Twitter/Facebook rage over it before realizing that they got played by someone and basically fed into a scheme to soil Sharon's name. I don't think either of them are willing to admit that they got played by the reporter but they deleted just about everything afterward. Sharon eventually responded to the entire matter on her fan page: I'm known for my filthy mouth, and I wish I could take credit for this one, but this is an obvious forgery. A very famous black man in a blonde wig once said that what other people think of me is none of my business, but in rare form I feel compelled to respond to this false Facebook post. It disheartens me to think that anyone would think I have any negative views on race, sex, creed, weight, or any other "label" . I am too smart and too inspired by all levels of pop culture to hate anyone on something as simple as race. To whomever created this fabricated Facebook post, I applaud you for serving social media realness, but I suggest you spend your free time on something more productive. What's most interesting is that this same reporter tried to 'out' Sharon as a racist a few days ago by writing an article for the Huffington Post about a Facebook post she had made a few months ago. He also lives in Chicago and is friends with Phi Phi. I don't think Phi Phi would be okay with this sort of shadiness at all. The reporter is not the one who created the image apparently (he said he sent it to Sahara 'to make sure it was real or not') but I don't really know what to believe. Also, Sharon hosted Carmen Carrera's birthday ball today in none other than her best FauxPaul drag. Don't f*** it up!

Oh, who am I kidding? Even if he does say "oh, sorry," he's obviously still going to go the Rev Al route in his career.

Posts: 264 04/30/12 01:26 AM More Recent Posts	Sharon actually did say the n-word a few months ago when her boyfriend Alaska was being labeled as a 'racist' and a group of people in Pittsburgh were trying to get off taken off of a performer's list because of how offensive they thought she (and the rest of Sharon's drag family) is which is what the post on the Huffington Post was about.

(being from chicago) and he sucks. classic gay boy trying to gain a little bit of fame since he knows someone (phiphi) who happened to be on a reality show. id be embarrassed knowing her personally, she will never be booked for gigs and people dont want to work with her. its like, wheres her all star invitation?...oh wait!! there wont be one. cant wait for tomorrow to be over so we can stop hearing about phiphi. and i cant wait to see sharon and/or even chad walk away with the crown!

Again I have no Idea if she is racist or not, but that as her opening statement is not very bright.

Her schtick is to be offensive. (e.g: using the n-word in shows but not DIRECTLY AT specific people to hurt them personally, eating money, using swastikas, etc.) And she usually tends to be pretty good at comebacks/sarcastic remarks that you shouldn't take seriously. That post basically started out as a normal Sharon quip imo before getting into "SERIOUS" territory which is something I haven't seen Sharon do for a while. If you can't see that she wasn't being serious by saying that in the first line, I don't think Sharon is the type of queen for you nor is it worth explaining it to you any further. :/

Like when Michelle commented on Phi Phi's "the help" comment, she said "as a black woman, I was offended." this is the same type of humor because it shows an understanding of the difference between race and ethnicity - which, unfortunately, most people do not. I think Sharon's most recent notoriety in regard to her racist facebook status was an attempt to engage in this sort of discussion by making people question the idea of race. I believe the only true way to make someone change their mind about something is to make them hear how stupid they sound by just letting them speak and I think she invited controversy with this strategy in mind - to get people to talk about race and engage in discussion. I think she failed when she did it the first time and she knows this. I don't think she's a racist and I think it was just a case of the road to hell being paved with good intentions. For her to say she wish she could take credit for the forged message in question is in line with her schtick of inciting controversy to open conversation about things. It gets people talking about why racism is bad and outs the real racists in the process, along with the people who jump on the bandwagon of anti-racism without understanding what it means. I think Sharon's humor is very smart because it creates a conversation which makes people question the taken for granted reality and the status quo of race relations in the Western World...among other things. Sharon's mentioned that the majority of her education was received from living in artistic communes and that's pretty much their manifesto. A bunch of socially marginalized vegetarians talking about society. Willam also uses this kind of humor - but directs most of it at the Christian Right. He calls things "dark sided" and "unchristian" to the same effect as his Chick Fil-A video. It's less controversial than talking about race, but they're two different boats bound for the same destination.

Second, I think the best outcome with this would be Sharon winning and Chad also being on All Stars. I can't say I'm so rooting for Chad to be on AS from a faves perspective, but that will be for the best. Chad would be a great S4 winner, but Ru did make a mess of it with a public AS vote before a live crowning of a winner. Now if Chad wins, even if she was always going to win, there will always be the thought of, "Well, but Sharon was the most popular by far, and didn't Ru say she waited to get fan input? She probably just made Chad win so that Sharon can go on All Stars without being a winner". So, because of that, I think it's best just to crown Sharon now. And to make up for it, give Chad a slot on All Stars, which he may not have gotten otherwise with the tough competition. All that said though, I still think there's a good possibility Chad will be crowned the winner anyway. Anyway, so tonight is the final night? It makes me happy though, usually, we have an entire year to wait for another season, and now we only have the summer to wait! And an All Stars to boot! ^_^

Posts: 28441 04/30/12 12:21 PM Registered User More Recent Posts	I'm looking very forward to tonight. Mostly because I know PP will not be winning and I love Sharon and Chad so it's a win-win. Of course, I'd love to see my favorite win for a change, but a win by Chad would be very satisfying. This definitely has been my favorite season since season 1. I thought the last 2 were ok, but this one seems to have improved. Not knowing the winner so early on helped.

Does anyone actually think this is a REAL competition when only one person makes all the decisions? I'm rooting for Sharon, but I'll still be happy for Chad if she wins, and I still love RuPaul and will be back next season.
