Why should I walk on the sidewalk when the streets are the better place to walk? It doesn't seem fair. But should I risk my life just because I don't want to get my feet wet and slip in mud? Most cars won't deliberately run me down (although some would). It's the ones that can't help being cars that are the problem. Hi, I'm a big metal car and I'm going fast. Look how fast I can go and I'm not going to stop for anyone. I'm being driven by a blind monkey with an expired brain. The driver is out to lunch and I'm driving myself. Haha! What are my options in this situation? I MUST WALK! Can you people not drive while I'm walking? Can you like, turn off your engines and decide to walk too? Walking is healthier than driving. You'll live longer if you walk .. unless a car kills you. See the problem? The problem is cars. People walking aren't the problem. Drivers are the problem. Stop driving. Oh, and another thing. Don't post in this thread because you don't have any answers. Shut up and don't post.

Posts: 23535 (12/21/08 11:49 AM) MESS member Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	back when my neoghborhood was built, people could opt out of sidewalks, so you're walking along just fine and the sidewalk abruptly stops, only to start again at the next yard when I lived in Germany as a child, the base housing had heated sidewalks which melted the ice and kept them slush free - don't know if they still do that there or not and I've never seen it in this country

They use that for heating buildings and probably for some of that sidewalk ice melting. Usually the utililities all run under the sidewalks. That way they don't have to dig up the roads as much when there's a utlility problem. They just pop up the sidewalk sections to get access to the utilities. Them Germans is smart.

Did you know ... car accidents are the number one cause of accidental deaths in the world? 3 times more people die in cars than are murdered each year in the US. 6 million US car accidents per year. 3 million US car related injuries per year. Over 40, 000 US deaths per year. Can we just ban cars?
