Since the idol has officially done everything (including taking all the suspense out of a tribal council vote like tonight when it could have been a great blindside) will the producers finally get rid of it next season? The answer is no, but damn. I know I'm a Crystal fan, but they could have made the episode so much better by just getting rid of the freaking contraption.

While the idol was given to Matty for assurance (I would assume), it looks like Crystal was going regardless.

I thought it was great in making Crystal and Kenny sweat and look at the other person hoping it was the other instead of them. It was still a blindside, just
like when Alexis went.

It was a big bust the first couple years, but lately it has made the show pretty interesting. Ozzie makes a fake idol and it fools people, Amanda plays it to
save herself from a certain eviction which totally blindsided those looking to oust her, and this season we get two fake idols and the first time (I believe)
it was given to someone else.

I'm not talking about the contestants...I'm talking about the people who matter, the viewers. We knew it was between Bob, Matty, and Crystal. Bob has
immunity. Matty has HII. Thus no suspense.

We didn't know Matty had the HII until the very end. I was surprised when Sugar gave it to him, though (as others have pointed out) he didn't end up
needing it.

I swear, people complain about the ruined suspense of 30 seconds.
This is almost as bad as the people that say Jeff using "and the next person voted out is" and revealing the vote is killing the suspense. Now if it were edited showing that it was for certain going to play out like that, then I could see the suspense being ruined. But otherwise, it's slightly less suspense, it will be ok. |
