It sure seems like there must be more to the gates than just, walking thought them.
I think in the square part of the maze there are some posts? Like you have to go to each of them and get something, which when you have all of them will let you open the gate.

So some kind of double maze, one with huts and one with posts. Wonder which one is first? There are pictures on Survivor Phoenix of them inside individual
huts getting on war paint and the outfits they are wearing. Warrior clothing? So maybe that is also part of the challenge. Thinking that VGs color clue may
point to Kenny since he's wearing white, or possibly Susie who is in black. Colors we always see but don't pay attention to.
Interesting challenge. |

It would seem that the post maze is first since there are five gates on the side of the huts maze. I imagine they have to find something at each of the posts
that allows them to open their gate and move on to the centrally located opening to the huts maze.
And what's with the fancy mowing on either side--just decorative? |

the huts almost appear to be color coded in the close ups?

Yep. I've counted 25 huts, although some might be used to hide camera equipment.

I can make out green? and a purple or blue? It does bring up another question, what are the round black or burnt circles along the sides purpose?

I've been assuming they'd be bonfires for dramatic effect.
I suppose they could be towers for cameras, though... do they have much height? |

lol - I was trying to count, too, but I keep getting either 23 or 24, which both seem unlikely.
The black circles look burnt to me, too. Which wouldn't make any sense in daylight. Is there any possibility this whole crazy thing is a torchlit night challenge? Then straight to tribal council, where "a shocking turn of events [very unexpected immunity winner] causes the castaways to scramble for new strategies"? |

I think in the square part of the maze there are some posts? Like you have to go to each of them and get something, which when you have all of them will let you open the gate.perhaps keys to unlock the gate? only one key will work or several locks and several keys. the huts almost appear to be color coded in the close ups?I can see the colours you're talking about, but since there seems to be non-player colours (green/purple) and no red/white/yellow player colours, i think it's just so they look purty. Me too. A couple of the huts are really close to one another Is there any possibility this whole crazy thing is a torchlit night challenge? Then straight to tribal council, where "a shocking turn of events [very unexpected immunity winner] causes the castaways to scramble for new strategies"?Now that would completely rock! It would be tough though. The bonfires would look wonderful visually but i doubt they would cast enough light to light up the course enough for the players to see. We just had a blindfolded challenge which showed how easily a simple "move straight ahead" course got the survivors headed off into no man's land! Can you imagine an actual maze? We'd see them go in and never come back out lolol. Also i don't see any torches or anything capable of shedding light on the final crucial puzzle platform where the survivors would *have* to be able to see. Oh but that would be so incredibly cool if it was at night! Here's something i just noticed. The original straight maze has multiple entrances and exits out the sides and none out the ends where the gates are. They would have to snag on to whatever is attached to the poles in the maze, make their way out the side and run along the outside of the maze to get to their gate. Which is okay i guess but it would give white (kenny) and black (susie) a distinct advantage as they wouldn't have to run so far to their coloured gate as, say, yellow (Matty) being in the middle of all the gates. I'm also thinking that pyramid puzzle is going to be at the end of this challenge. Did they say it was the final challenge of the season or just the final episode challenge? Have they ever had a non-endurance final IC before? I'm sure they have but i can't think offhand. Plus, (and yes i know this is silly) it's shaped exactly like the huts in the maze. |

I have a hard time believing that a puzzle is in the final immunity challenge. So, I'm thinking it's involved in the F5.

If there are 25 that would be 5 per player maybe?

Is this the most elaborate challenge ever? With all the challenge elements, plus the fire pits (there are 5 on each side, coincidence?) The designs in the
grass and the flags. They really went all out for visual effect. The walls in the flat maze looks like they go up and down. Maybe they have to walk on the
walls and jump from one to the other if they reach a dead end. It looks like they have to get a key and open their door to get out of the first one. Since
there are 25 huts in the second maze my guess is that there is 1 puzzle piece in each hut and the five players would have to find all 5 of theirs before going
up the ramp and solve the puzzle in front of Jeff.

The original straight maze has multiple entrances and exits out the sides and none out the ends where the gates are.I think really there is only the one exit out the side, right at the end near the gates. The other places where it is open to the side are just dead ends, just decorative. But yeah, it doesn't look entirely fair. Hard to see where it would much matter, as long as the whole course is, but odd to make the one exit at the side, not the middle. I can see the colours you're talking about, but since there seems to be non-player colours (green/purple) and no red/white/yellow player colours, i think it's just so they look purty. The colors could still be part of the challenge, if they're all non-player colors. Like, you have to get a <thing> from a hut of each color. But there's only one <thing> per hut. So you have to find a hut that is the right color, and that no one else has already gone to. |
