Like they did last year, CBS is continuing with the behind-the-scenes videos of the castaways and how they live at the Ponderosa Camp, beginning with Episode 8 when the jury starts to form.

These are always entertaining, and like Jeff's blogs, may contain 'spoilers' we could use in this spoiler-free season.

These Ponderosa videos are fun to watch! I'm not expecting any "spoilers" (yet?), but we'll see when others join them.

I have mixed feelings about having a season without spoilers. Any "spoilers" we have are coming from Jeff Probst. LOL

Charlie arrives at Base Camp, Marcus goes to greet him, then next day it's on to Ponderosa:

Charlie and Marcus are good friends. Dinners in Ponderosa are cooked by an older French couple. Great food. MB sure treats his castaways well:

Seriously? Somehow I don't see this happening, they aren't that exciting a duo to include them in the show.

Yeah, I think one of them mentioned it in an interview or something.

Yeah, it was Marcus who mentioned that they really wanted to go on The Amazing Race. I wonder if they'll make it on??

If they do, I think they would hae a really good shot at winning, and the TAR forum would turn into some crazed asshole zone like it did when Romber was on.

Actually after reading some of the excerpts of Marcus and Charlie at the Ponderosa.... I think Marcus may not be as "straight" as he thinks he is. Call me crazy if you will but I have personally seen men who considered themselves heterosexual find themselves later in life and realize that they are gay. Not a judgment, merely an observation.

They don't, coach, or not that I've seen.

However, I do know straight guys who enjoy the attention of gay guys. To them it's safe, since nothing will come of it--but they get to be idolized, fawned over. I'm guessing this is what is happening.

And let's not forget the straight bartenders working at gay bars, some half dressed, who know how to work it for tips.

Thanks, rbk32, for placing the new Ponderosa videos.

Randy arrives at Ponderosa, showers and cleans up, and he's among friends, good food, good company; but he's still his grumpy old self.

LOL

They go on a "fishing safari" and Randy catches a 2-pound fish. Off they go later, dressed in black robes and hoods, to the next Tribal Council.

On a side note ~

In Survivor: Gabon, I miss the water challenges!

Whatever happened to them? They're close to an ocean, for crying out loud! Bring them on!

Randy drinking beer and being grumpy. What an endearing moment. I'm going to miss him. Ponderosa viewing is a must see from now on.

I felt sorry for Randy in the end.

Not seen, a conversation between Randy and Matty:

Matty: What was the biggest tragedy? The family thing.

Randy: Uh...I mean everything. One tops the other. The dog replaced the family thing.

Randy (solo): My dog Johnson meant more to me than any of these people will. He's been dead 5 years. I miss him to this day. So it's tough for me.

Matty: So the family thing was huge, the thing with your...

Randy: Yeah, and then the dog helped me deal with it, and then the dog was gone. The dog was 5 years ago. All I've done with it.

Randy (solo): I'm not the nicest guy in the world. I've had a tough 49 years. Matty knows if you get me, you're not offended by me. If you don't get me, you go crying home to Mama.

Randy: I thought I was gonna die. I swear to God I did.

Matty: After your dog? (Randy says yes) Crazy.

Randy: I didn't eat for about a week. Ended up in the hospital. Then I just decided this isn't worth it. Me starving to death isn't going to bring him back. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Matty: What do you want in your life now?

Randy: I wanna get a new dog next month.

Matty: Not like a wife or anything?

Randy: If that happens, it happens, but I'm not planning on it. I'm planning on the dog. I know I can trust the dog.

I've only been keeping up in here sporadically this season, so if this is a stupid question, I apologize. What is the 'family thing' Matty and Randy are referring to? A family tragedy? Is he shunned by his family for some reason? Anyone know?
