OMG I totally stumbled upon that video the other day and thought the exact same thing! :) Colleen <333 Damn, if only she had held on, she probably would
have won Borneo.

Actually to be fair, Probst was really running up that mountain during the premiere.

I've been rallying against it ever since I realized that Jeff is being billed as the "star" of the show. You had some lady on the Early Show
saying "Well what really interests me are the players." The castaways ARE the fucking show. Also notice how Jeff alone is in all the pre season
photos standing by a fire. Fuck off my social experiment dude

Now THAT'S how you do an endurance challenge. Take notes, show.
I loved the commentary from the ousted players, and does anyone know why Sean ended up not going that night when they said he was done for? My memory isn't so fresh. |

Kelly was supposed to go, but obviously she won immunity. Rich and Sean had a pretty tight friendship, Rih wanted to keep him another round

Sue pissed me off for yelling at Kelly for voting for Colleen when it was Rich's idea.

I think it was the bug eating challenge where I really noticed it. The show was raw back then, now it is a lot more controlled/packaged. I still love the show, but there will never be a better season than Borneo. |

I really don't think the problem with the current seasons has been the casting so much as the editing. Even mactors can be funny and interesting if you
actually show them talking. And not talking about some Hidden Idol or some
overcomplicated twist, but just being regular people. That's what made the early seasons so interesting, and I hope they try to get back to that kind of
simple, unrefined editing for the last few seasons so Survivor can end on a great note instead of a "meh" one.

Pretty soon he'll just sit in his tent all day drinking martinis and molesting the attractive young native girls, while an assistant (his own version of Jim Fowler) goes out to risk life and limb. |

I think that's one of the best arguments I have ever read as to why the early seasons were more engrossing than the later ones. Nice work. |
