We'll see you soon. GC: (votes Michelle) My vote is for Michelle because that's the name I heard the most today and I was trying to vote with the rest of the group, so sorry it had to be you. Ken: (votes Michelle) Michelle, I tried really hard to save you but if I dind't vote with the group, then they wouldn't trust me at all. I'm very sorry. Dan: (votes Michelle) Michelle, I don't like doing this but you broke my trust with Kenny and if I can't trust you, you're useless to me in this game. Michelle: (votes Gillian) I think you're the weakest one on the tribe, that's pretty much it, for weak ones, but you are the weakest. We weren't shown any of it on the episode. With only 45 minutes of screen time and so much to do in episode 1, I guess whatever Dan and Michelle discussed was dispensed with on the editing room floor. Maybe Randy tried to get Dan or someone else booted. Randy's more than a curmudgeon. There's more going on underneath the surface with him. When he says he doesn't want to ever get married, that tells me he's scared to get hurt, but secretly wants to fall in love.

Probably pretty fractured, but maybe a basis and Crystal seems at the heart. Randy has thus far been shown to be he own entity. Dan and Susie also appear to be on their own island.

Posts: 1452 (09/28/08 7:50 AM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Yeah, we didn't see people saying "you and me to the end", but I thought the Crystal conversations stood out. Especially the Matty one - he was very emphatic in assuring her that however her peeps were voting, he was on board. Like she was the influence broker. Her behind the scenes leadership style is a good match for those guys - they're younger, maybe made bad decisions already, I bet they've had enough of people telling them they can't make decisions. She's listening first, to get all the benefit of their thinking, and then they feel secure and validated enough to do what she prefers. Susie was mentioned in several of those conversations (by Crystal and by Ken, I think). Even though we didn't see her hardly at all (just an audience for Gillian's old people pitch), I didn't get the impression she was isolated (although, of course, she is now the oldest woman). On rewatching, Randy was quite the little narrator. I think we kinda did hear about his alliance - to not have one. We see him interacting cordially with other team members (esp in the web extras), so he's probably got his finger on the pulse enough to go with majority boot decisions, while not really making any enemies. If the game format is straight to a late merge, that probably won't work, but it gives him good flexibility if there's a swap or an early merge.

Posts: 532 (09/28/08 11:21 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I think based on those sidebar conversations as to who to vote out... the core alliance seems to be Crystal, GC, and Ken with Matty being the outer onion layer so to speak. I also remember Matty going to Crystal to say that he was onboard with the decision. Crystal talked to Ken about what he thought of the tribe--and this later turned into a strategic conversation between Crystal, GC, and Ken. I'm sure Ken and GC talked strategy while they were off fishing. Matty gave Ken a fish punch when they agreed who to vote out. We have seen Susie and Dan talk strategy, but to the wrong person--Gillian, so I think they could be on the outs. And like someone mentioned above, I think Randy is able to go with the flow without stepping on anyone's toes.

We never once saw her fight to keep her supposed buddy Gillian in the game, and it seems kind of like a minority haven on that tribe, and as we've seen in almost every Survivor, the minorities almost always stick together for some strange reason.

Susie told me Gillian's plotting against me right now. Apparently she has Dan and Randy on her side... GC: But check this out. Dan's not here. She can be saying that all she wants. You think Dan wants to keep Jill over you? Dan knows she didn't help with the last challenge. I think if they said that that's a big surprise to me, but at the same time I don't think they have the numbers to do it. Ken: It would be a big blindside tonight if they did because if Crystal did take me out. Crystal's been extra nice to me lately, it's kind of weird. She's been talking to me a lot and she didn't do that the first 2 days. Today she was like oh I'm gonna take my homeboy Kenny to go to the stream. Sometimes you have a feeling. That's why I was telling you today I had a feeling that Gillian doesn't like me, Randy doesn't like me. The old people are plotting together, and if they can get Sue over, I could be going. I'm just telling you in advance. Like you said, if it's your time, it's your time, I don't mind, but I was just telling you. GC: I think it's good bro. For real. Ken (shakes GC's hand): Alright. ----------- So it sounds like Ken and GC are talking game with each other. And if Susie has enough trust in Ken, I don't think she would have went to him to blab about Gillian's plotting. So the core group might be bigger than I originally thought. Ken and GC seem tight. Crystal and Susie are supposedly tight, but we haven't seen that. One pair of Ken/GC must be working with someone in the Crystal/Susie pair and Matty is just going along for the ride. It keeps making Dan look more and more on the outs.

If it was who likes who, Dan would be gone, but he may well bring enough to physical challenges that they have to make a tougher choice. I'm also interested to see what happens when the next Fang member returns from Exile. I'm sure there was more about it from Dan that we didn't see, but what they showed us was odd: "There was a choice. I made the wrong choice." Like you had to pick door number one or door number two, and he just guessed unlucky. Wouldn't any normal person trying to get along with their tribe say something like "OK, here's the setup. First off, you have to choose. Either a clue, or this nice bed and food and stuff." I think the other tribe members could understand that you weren't going to just blurt out the first clue, but you've built up a bunch of social capital by sharing useful information. Plus that gives the whole tribe a better chance of making the right decision when they get to exile a Kota, which is to your advantage. ETA: Interesting that we haven't had gotten any racial mentions. Either the editors don't want us to see that (cause it would make the good people look bad?), or it truly wasn't an issue, other personal characteristics were more important. Teehee on Gillian - she wants to pickthe only black woman, who is also huge, and Gillian chooses to identify Crystal as "the one next to where Ace was standing". It was a a little interesting where the people were standing in the line before the pick-em. Maybe the producers placed them, but it did seem like people were sorta grouping themselves by appearances - all the suits were together, Susie next to Paloma, etc. Last Edited By: birdlady 09/28/08 12:01 PM. Well it is kinda hard to not hang out with each other when: A) you're only group of minorities amongst a group of white Americans and B) You're all put on the same tribe minus one. It's inevitable that they would bond together. People don't cry foul when the white people pair and group of every season, but the season a mass amount of minorities group up, people want to cry RACE RACE!!! Just to spite Dictatorship, I hope the minorities steam roll again ala Fiji. Bet on black!
