Caanaaan Banana, thanks for your response. I don't have any conclusions yet !

In the vid caps I have viewed I can only really see the red in the front right and white in the front left, and I see none of the Survivors wearing red. (Unless you count Lis wearing that fetching dark orange tube top during what has now been revealed to be the RC, not the IC).

Family Member

Hmmm ... If, as many have picked, Tina has won the RC, I don't think the guest is a family member. I just don't think she would be standing there with her arms open; she would be running up to the chopper trying to claw the doors open. And if it was just a chopper coming to collect her for a reunion with her family elsewhere, I don't think she would bother opening her arms as though to welcome someone (the pilot ??) with an embrace.

If dark orange can morph into red, maybe it is Lis we are seeing -- I think she would be more emotional than the vid caps we have seen, if a visit from her family was on the cards.

Steve Irwin

I think it was StLousanta who posted something from another thread about the surprise guest being Steve Irwin with a FedEx delivery. I would accept that possibility if FedEx (or the like) was a sponsor of the show -- but it doesn't seem to be. But then does anyone remember what colour a Target staff uniform is ? Red ?

Another reason why it could feasibly be Steve Irwin is his skill in the snake handling side of things, especially if the IC turns out to be that 'paired off' game. He could arrive sometime after the RC to teach them about the IC (?).

The only thing is, I can't see him taking anyone anywhere for a spot of pampering if that is what the mystery guest is supposed to do for a RC winner.

Paul Hogan

Such a well covered discussion and people have arrived at different conclusions. I am still divided over this one -- it seems so obvious, and yet the real corporate affiliations, timing etc issues go against him doing the guest spot. I suspect that the limit of his involvement is everything we have seen / heard so far.

I can't see Paul Hogan spiriting anyone away for a spot of pampering, unless it is in fact some sightseeing. In that case, it could be part of his Tourism Australia contract thingy (see Croc III web site etc) -- but then why wouldn't he have been on the Jerri/Colby junket instead ?

On Steve Irwin and Paul Hogan -- in theory, they know their way around the Outback. The most advanced type of transport I can imagine either of them arriving in is perhaps a all-terrain vehcicle. But a helicopter ? What, are they scared of the Outback ?

Rudy Boesch

If he was in the US on 25/11/00, he would most likely not have left until the evening of 26/11/00, arriving the early morning (overnight ?) of 28/11/00. That's if he flew commercial.

Unlikely to be other ex-Survivors because they have had some SII related exposure.

Cathy Freeman

Something told me it might be a woman, but I still don't think it would really be Cathy. First, she's and inspirational and lovely person but she is married to a Nike and personally sponsored by Nike. She is originally from a coastal town nearby (? name ?), but there is said to have been a major massacre of local Aborigines in the Herbert River Area -- such was the peaceful establishment of Australia-- and she is bound to have heard of it.

I will fascinated to learn who the mystery guest is, because I can't narrow it down further than saying I don't think it is a) a family member or b) a former Survivor.

(Unless Colby really does win RC, in which case it might be his Mom, and Tina is just being hospitable by opening her arms for a hug, before Colby has even realised that his Mom really is here in the Outback).
