I haven't had time to look through all the previews/vidcaps closely, so correct me if I'm wrong about this.....is the ES preview the only source of the vidcap with the fuse going off on the second fire tower? If so, then I think way too much is being made of this. My take is that it is simply shown for demonstration purposes, and is not footage of the actual competition.

Why do I say this? Examine the ES preview more closely. There is no confirmed footage of the actual competition. We see footage to accompany JP's description of the challenge - a caribeener attached to a rope, the ropes course, the puzzles, shackles being unlocked, a person navigation the balance beam, and a fire bucket rising and setting of the fuse. IMO, we can't be sure any of this is actual footage of the competition. The caribeener/shackles/balance beam shots might be of Lis, and might be from the challenge itself, but they also might not. I think it's only a demonstration, shown to make sure the desciption of the challenge is clear to the viewers (and they probably would use Lis for a demonstration - best legs!). We saw a similar shot of a fire bucket rising to set off a fuse when the earlier fire-starting challenge was described. If I recall correctly, this was NOT a shot of Colby's fuse going off (the bucket shown was the ONLY one that had risen at all, which was not true in the challenge itself), but rather a simple demonstration.

Also, the audio accompanying the fuse going off is not consistent with the audio you would hear if this were the actual competition. You can clearly hear the bucket rising and the fuse going off, but you hear no background noise whatsoever. No sounds of anybody cheering/urging their bucket on or anything of the sort. Of course, the audio from the competition could have been doctored for the preview.....but wouldn't the simpler explanation be that this just isn't footage of the winner's fuse going off?

Mabye it's just me, but I think this shot has no meaning whatsoever, except as a possible red herring (and if that's what it is, it's working!).
