Twist - Different Location Than What Is Announced... | ||
|
Imagine at the Survivor 18 (Brazil) Reunion Show next May that Jeff announces that the next Survivor will be "Survivor: India". They play a brief
promo as they always do, and everyone is made to believe that India is where the next Survivor will be held.
However, during the first episode of "Survivor: India", they show the airplane taking off from Los Angeles with the castaways on board. They're crossing the Pacific Ocean, when all of a sudden, the pilot of the airplane announces that they must make an emergency stop in Hawaii. The castaways are greeted on the tarmac by Jeff Probst who tells them that they're not actually going to India, but that "Survivor: Hawaii" has just started. He divides the castaways up into two tribes, hand them their buffs, tells them that they're playing in the clothes they're wearing, and directs them to two small airplanes (one for each tribe) that will take them to an undisclosed remote section of Hawaii. So, the twist is that the game is not played where they announced it would be, but instead "within" the United States. They might be able to pull off the same twist, and have the airplane land near the Rocky Mountains or Appalachians. It would depend on where they take off from, and where the fake Survivor location is said to be. |

Wow, congrats on having possibly the most retarded idea in the history of mankind.

a survivor that takes place in the US or Canada would probably just destroy the franchise. it's like my dumb neighbors who, when they heard i auditioned
for survivor, assumed i was automatically going on the show and it would be filmed in our county somewhere. honestly--what the fuck?

and INDIA is a 300x better location than HAWAII. that twist would just be disappointing.

Survivor reputation wouldn't bode well if that happened. I think they could make it work to change the location in that way, but it would still have to be
out of country.

How the fuck is going to a different location than announced a twist? And plus, we did that a while back with Jordan/Marquesas.
I WOULD like to see a season where the contestant don't know where they are. Just imagine......take them to an undisclosed location that is beautiful and uninhabited. They live there for 39 days and then at the finale Jeff goes "Congratulations Mildred, you are the winner of..........SURVIVOR: FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA!" |

They are never going to do some crazy type shit...the most "out there" I think survivor has gone is fans vs faves, and not race twist as people might
think. The race twist I felt was one of the most pure seasons we ever had in terms of people and relating the show back to a social experiment.
I think we will possibly have a mix for past twists if anything. I would personally love 3 tribes. Girls vs guys vs mixed. No matter what wait until 14 to switch um up to 7 vs 7 then merge them at 10 and thats it. F4 1.5 hour ep then 1.5 F3 ep with 1.5 hour reunion More of an "out there" kinda idea would be having an announced outcast twist. Tell the tribes, starting with the first TC, that that person can leave or they can stay and have a chance at a point to play for a return to the game. It could be like S7 and be after 6 are voted out or be when(ever) they merge. The incentive is that one person will definitly be brought back into the game with the possibility being maybe more then one. They are told that they will live just as the Survivors live but get clean water and bread while they sit out challeges with their tribes. Some might except (like a paloma) or some might decline (like a CG). I feel it would be interesting to have people stick around and add to the drama. The question is how the person(s) will be chosen. Possibly like S7 with tribal format or maybe whoever stays is told to go to TC and they vote 1 in so its like an extra episode. I feel this idea is most PRACTICAL for survivor but better for the viewers and game play for BIG BROTHER but I forone don't think, unless I was assured some how, that I would stay in that hell hole. |

When they brought the outcast back on S7, the reviews were pretty much horrid. Probst said in an interview that they pretty much would never do that again.

If the Outcast twist was so "horrid" then why is PI one of the most beloved seasons ever, both among hardcore fans and casual viewers? As unfair as
it is, it needs to be brought back one of these days just because it's so awesome. And don't announce it beforehand.

It may have been that Probst thought it sucked. It was a long time when I saw that interview, I'll have to find it again.
I think He thought that if you got kicked off, you should be done, but Burnett overrode him and put in in anyway. |

I just think if ur gunna do it again why not tell them and add to the drama.
It does the same thing as before but add the drama of "Well lets vote them off after the merge cuz they will definitly be voted right back in" or maybe even a dumb 'vote me out now...they'll just vote me back in" Idk....I think they should do it again and if they do then do it this way, its just better and more interesting. |

If 20 happens to be the last season then why dont they bring all the winnees back and have the location somewhere where all the past locations can connect to
like some island in the middle of the world.Have each winner get marooned like how they did it in their own season whether by boat like in cook islands or by
plane like The Australian Outback. Then the hidden immunity idol could be hidden on the table at tribal council where they write their vote.

StarDust |

I bet all the winners wouldn't agree to it.....some were asked for Micronesia and they didn't want to.

No, the players returning via boat or plane will just be based on how they get marooned for that season depending on how they were marooned in the season they
won. The immunity idol being hidden at Tribal Council is just another idea.It would save someone on a losing tribe that same night and it may also give one of
the players the idea to throw a challenge just so they can go to tribal council and get the idol.
