It's gotta be Fallen Comrades. Pure speculation though.
Or possibly a kayaking challenge down the river. Any one remember that picture from some tabloid. SurvivorNews.Net also had it listed in their calendar as a possibility for the final IC.

Evenin folks. We've got Tina who wants her daughter to find someone "just like Colby". And we've got the resident Buddhist bozo who will let "fate" decide everything. Then we have the Champion of the Challenges.

Preview didn't seem to have much in it--unless it's very well hidden.

If it's mental, Colby and Keith went neck and neck on the "paired up" and Colby won. If it's physical, no reason to doubt that Colby won't win again. Fallen Comrades is the only hope that Tina has of winning an IC. Any evidence of that being the IC?

No evidence really, speculation of it being the final challenge just based on the fact this season's challenges are similar to the first and fallen comrades was a good challenge that a lot of people liked, so I think they would use it again.

As noted on day 42 of the EBT calender, US Weekly reported a desperate canoe race.

Unfortunately, I don't have a hard-copy of that magazine, and I have exhausted my resources for finding an archive of the article. I believe it was the January 29th issue.

Here is a copy of a portion of the article from The Globe which has been a primary source for much of our photo evidence.

(I also posted a link to this photo in the vidcaps thread. Due to the size of the file, I'm not going to leave it up for long.)

The identity of the person in the canoe and the nature of the canoe photo have been discussed ad nauseum. General consensus thus far is that the person in the canoe is not one of the castaways, and the canoe is too modern for inclusion in a challenge.

The canoe shown is a Frenzy, manufactured by Ocean Kayak. I have been in email contact with both the US and Australian distributors of Ocean Kayaks. They have been quite cordial and helpful, but ignore any mention of Survivor. In fact, the Australian distributor discontinued correspondence after my first mention of Survivor.

My best guess (emphasis on guess) is that the IC involves a canoe race, but the canoe shown in the article in The Globe is not one of the canoes used by the contestants.

I would ask that no one attempt to contact Ocean Kayak to chase that lead further. For one thing, I think it's a dead end. Additionally, they have been quite friendly, and I wouldn't want them to be the focus of unwanted attention by you-know-who. Besides which, they know where I live... haha...

Oh wow, a canoe race? My gut was telling me that it would be the fallen comrades thing, and Tina would win. But if it is indeed a canoe race, it would seem to favor Colby. However, there is a technique to canoeing. I going to guess that Keith hasn't done much canoeing. Has Colby? Maybe, but maybe not. Tina? Something tells me that being from Tennessee that she has done some canoeing. Maybe she can win anyway.

At the end of last nights show, when Liz was leaving, she turned to TINA and said to her: "You've gotta win that (IN) sometimes soon..." or something like that.

Is this foreshadowing? Right now, without any evidence, I feel Tina wins the IC, just based on foreshadowing.

dgr- I rewound that bit and I think she said, "and, uh, try to WEAR that thing."

I wasn't sure if she was talking to Tina (you need it next time) or Colby (you leave that thing hanging around so we can all drool over it). I thought it was a remark to Colby - Also made me wonder if the rule was that they were supposed to wear it but Colby just wouldn't do it. (speculation, maybe he was even told to wear it when showing up for a challenge and it became an inside joke.)

On the news late last night (national feed, CBS), they had a story to hype Survivor, and they reported that producers had said that the last challenge will NOT be physical, so Colby does not necessarily have an advantage.

This would seem to rule out a canoe race. I don't think they would lie to their own news source, plus if that is what they are promising they could be risking a backlash if they don't deliver. (Oh hell, who am I kidding, MB could probably just say Colby wins immunity because I feel like it and people would still watch) Anyway I am sticking to my thinking that the challenge will be some kind of 'fallen comrades' quiz and Tina will win.

What is needed for "fallen comrades" that all would not have access to? Are we buying into Tina "the mom" knowing all and seeing all about folks who are gone?

Is "fallen comrades" about all 13? If so, are Colby, Keith and Tina equally disadvantaged about the K's they did not know? Or does Tina carry an advantage because of Lis--who last episode seemed to admit that her time was spent with Rodger in the K's and not too much with the other folks? Does anyone remember any inter-tribe interaction by Colby, Keith and Tina that would support any have a knowledge advantage over another?

Do we rely totally on "fallen comrades" based on challenge not being physical? After all Rudy stood with his hand on that idol for a long time and I don't know if that was really a physical challenge.

Could "fallen comrades" and "hands on idol" be combined in some way that would make sense?

"Fallen Comrades" was good last year because it allowed the jury to see what the remaining contestants knew about them. So if it is, I would expect it to be questions about who is on the jury (like last year). Funny how Rich won even after he displayed his ignorance about the others' personal lives.

Actually, along the same reasoning, I think it would be a good idea to allow the jury to see the voting week to week. That way contestants can get a chance every week to explain their picks to the jury (with a soundproof booth or something?). Advice for S3.

I tend to waiver against Fallen Comrades as a challenge, i dont know why, it does not feel right. If they did do fallen comrades, they would do it right before TC. It WOULD be very cool actually- think about it:
Colby 6(THIS IS HYPOTHETICAL), Keith 4, Tina 5. Last Question. Colby, for Your 5th and final Immunity, blah blah blah?

But I dont think this is the case, "Fallen Comrades". You see, it has to be something, less random, something everyone could win. Something that which you REALLY REALLY want to win, then you could.
I think it is hold the pole, stand on stump, or hot ash standing (they walked over hotash on S1, so why not? Besides, its there own decision, and a quick burn sure speeds up a 20 hour "hold the pole" contest.)

Another thing, there is no liability, in Survivor 1 they signed something saying if they died/hurt/etc. noone can sue.

PS. If Keith, Tina, or Colby won the Immunity Necklace, should they be allowed to wear it @ Final TC?

I'm really leaning toward "fallen comrades."

The best part about that challenge is that it's done in front of the jury with possible repercussions on the final voting.

The focus over the next episode needs to turn from the bickering, misery and backstabbing to the jury. It's good TV to show the jury more before the final votes. All we've had so far are glimpses. (Did you catch Lis winking at Rodger, btw?)

What did they do last year on this one, vote right away or come back later?

In S1 wasn't the IC where they had to answer questions about the people who had been voted off when there was still 4 people left? I swear I can remember it going down to the last question between Sue and Kelley for immunity and the hands on the idol thing was the final immunity when Richard decided to step down and eat.....Rudy accidentally removed his hand and Kelley won then decided to take Rich with her. Or am I remembering this wrong? Not that it really matters, I was just wondering.

My guess (and I stress guess) is that the last IC is going to be the question and answer session about the people who have been voted off already. They could go back to the start of the game because the 3 left are all from the same tribe and have equal chances and they could toss in some Kucha questions about the people that made it to the merger.....what do you guys think?

Yes, last time the "fallen comrads" was the IC with 4 remaining. The "last man standing" holding onto the immunity idol was the last one of the game for Survivor I. I think it will run along those lines this year again. Something involving stamina, not necessarily strength. That puts it on an equal footing for everyone. Remember, MB likes to "recycle" challenges.

The problem I have with "Fallen Comrades" being the final IC. It's not something I would picture as a final challenge. It involves memory skills plus knowing your fellow survivors. A memory skill challenge was already used in the previous challenge with the "Paired Off" Challenge ("OUTWIT" Challenge). The idea of the importance of knowing your victims because they decide your fate is a good one. Because of this, I won't rule out the possibility of "Fallen Comrades". Although, for a final challenge I expect some type of "OUTLAST" type challenge. To me that makes more sense. Considering that the final 3 have outlasted everyone to this point. They have outplayed and outwitted all their fellow tribemates. The only thing that will get them farther is outlasting those who are left. Because, it's not about outwitting and outplaying anymore, the game has been played, now its who can last the longest.
