We felt Ike's rath here in central Ohio yesterday. We had 5 hours of sustained 50-60 mph winds. Thankfully no rain. It was like being in a F1 tornado. Power was out for 12 hours...but is back on now. Certainly nothing near what everyone's experienced in Texas...but it was enough to make me wonder why anyone would want to sit through winds twice that strength. It was scary watching trees go down and shingles being blown off roofs. I just cannot imagine the terror one must feel during a hurricane. Thoughts and prayers for all of youwho have to go through the long process of restoring to normal.

They had to recall their crews they sent to Texas to help. It just amazes me how far reaching the consequences of this storm have been. Glad everyone is safe and has checked in. I know Die will be okay, too. Keeping positive thoughts for everyone.

Yes Jim Dandy, lots of other places feeling Ike's wrath ...there is mass flooding in MO around the rivers. I think the majority of the death count is in other areas other than the coast.

I lost power for 24 hours, never lost water and had enough food and bottled water to last. I got power back yesterday at noon. So, all is good for me. I feel somewhat normal today. I'm just concerned about die right now. She's only a hop, skip and a jump from me. If I knew exactly where she lived I would go check on her.

I know that all of Die and SKs Ike related problems FAR outweigh any priority to check in to sucks, but I wish some nice National uardsman with a Laptop that has WiFi and a strong Battery would stop by.
