Has anyone caught the old AWA shows on ESPN Classic weeknights at 1 am??? The business sure was different 20 years ago.
Their move sets are so simple by today's standards. Things like a dropkick and suplex were a big deal back then.
That being said i miss the days somebody like Playboy Buddy Rose was considered a top heel. As much as the guys now seem to have better moves it seems like there was a better sense of timing in some of those older matches that only a few possess today.
How long was AWA on ESPN anyways? It would be nice to see some ealy to mid 80s matches. I used to watch it way back when(like 1984ish) because i got local channels out of Duluth, MN. I think the ESPN deal though didn't kick in till like 85/86. Hopefully they can get a few Baron Von Rashke fights in. It will also be nice if they show the Team Challenge Series, i wanna see that Turkey on a pole match.
