The funny thing is, on second viewing, it is SO obvious that Sam is some type of werewolf creature. I don't know how many times his face is framed with a
dog painting in the background.

I don't even think you needed to rewatch S1 episodes to get the hints from last season. I haven't read the books and I knew Sam sometimes turned into a
dog (but I didn't know if he was a "weredog" or a shapeshifter in general).
