BB10 Ratings Watch - Movin on up!

Posts: 7701 (08/16/08 1:09 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	As has consistently been the case, CBS was second in viewers, and last night also second in the 18-49 demographic. *Flashpoint* scored 6.311 million with a 1.6/4 among 18-49 year olds at 10pm and *Big Brother* had an impressive (all things considered) 6.7 million with a 2.3/7 in the age demo, with a rerun of *CSI* smooshed in between. Preseason NFL football on FOX (Carolina Panthers vs. Philadelphia Eagles) was no match for the Olympics or Big Brother and FOX only averaged 3.5 million and a 1.3/4 in the age demo. -TV by the numbers. The Olympics posted a 12.7/22 for NBC at 8 p.m. "Big Brother 10," 4.3/8, put CBS in second. A preseason NFL game, and weather-delay programming of "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?," averaged 2.5/4 for FOX. "Ugly Betty" took fourth for ABC, and a "Smallville" rerun drew a 1.1/2 for The CW. -Zap2it

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" earned a 2.7/5 for ABC, while " The Simpsons" and "Family Guy" averaged 2.3/4 for FOX. "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Aliens in America" aired on The CW. -Zap2it

Posts: 2089 (08/19/08 11:39 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	That CornerOfficeX guy who posted all those [accurate] spoilers at RealityBBQ at the beginning of this season had also said that in order for CBS to greenlight another winter edition, the ratings for BB10 would have to be HUGE. I wonder exactly what number qualifies as HUGE enough for them to do another one before next summer. I mean, BB10 doing so well against the Olympics while other shows aren't isn't too shabby. And even though the BB9 ratings weren't too hot, the show WAS up against American Idol, and there have been interviews where it was said that in light of the shows competition, CBS was "pleased" with the numbers it got. All I know is that if we don't end up with another winter season, then the fact that we only had a few months between BB8, BB9 & BB10 is going to make the off-season between BB10 & BB11 seem SO LONG!

LoL. In any case, happy to see the ratings remaining good, which provides only more evidence for my point of view that we've got absolutely nothing to worry about in terms of this show staying on the air.

Posts: 13872 (09/12/08 11:53 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Pretty good ratings for Thursday's show: CBS' Big Brother 10 won the 8 p.m. hour overall in total viewers (7.93 million) and adults 18-49 (2.7/ 8). On the flipside was the time period-premiere of Fox's Hole in the Wall at a disappointing 5.37 million viewers (#3) and a second-place 2.3/ 7 in the demo.

Over the winter season, BB9. BB8 was actually a big ratings bonanza and improved on BB6/BB7 if not the ones before that. It had some of the highest rated episodes ever. Does anyone know if that's true cuz that is REALLY good and has to be one of the highest rated episodes in BB history

The finale did well, considering the competition. followed by the season-finale of Big Brother 10 (Viewers: #3, 7.63 million; A18-49: #3, 2.7/ 7) Overall this season did pretty well in the ratings, increasing or holding steady as the season went along. Hopefully this season was the type which will encourage viewers to stay with BB, instead of seeing it as a freak show or as unwatchable.
