Posts: 1000 (07/10/08 12:38 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	No idea if this has been done or not, but in honor of # 1000, I'm ranking all of the twists (I got this idea from someone in another thread, take credit if you want it). Here's a list of every twist that I can remember. If I'm forgetting anything let me know, and I'll add it to the list. Borneo- Ambassadors Australia- Person with more past votes leaves in a tie Merging at a new camp 42 Days Africa- If neither have past votes, quiz on the location determines the tie. Tribal Swap Marquesas- Ability to give up individual immunity Purple rock Thailand- Pick your own tribes Mutiny Fake merge Amazon- Men vs. Women Reward winner is give a choice to either allow everyone else but themselves to win reward or keep it for themself. Pearl Islands- Clothes on your back Reward winners "raid" enemy camp Outcasts Jury competes in the final 4 IC All Stars- All Stars return Three tribes Saboga dissolved Late merge due to a tribal swap Two immunity winners in one challenge Vanuatu- Double boot Sit in on other tribe's council Play for individual immunity with winner getting to spend time with other tribe and give one of them immunity One person divides everyone else into two tribes. Palau- Everyone starts together as one tribe Race from the boat to win individual immunity 2 people not picked are gone Tribe that wins reward gives immunity to one person on the other tribe (double boot) Late merge due to no other twists Exile Island Fire making challenge at the final 4 Guatemala- BJ and Steph return Hike through the jungle Rafe sitting in on the Yaxha TC and giving immunity away on a ballot (double boot). HII (play before the vote) Compete for immunity or eat During the auction you could win an advantage for the upcoming immunity challenge Exile Island- Tribes divided by Age/Gender Four Tribes HII (play after the vote) Person not picked to be on a tribe is sent to Exile and joins whoever loses the next IC Save someone from tribal council by sending them to Exile Two people sent to Exile Island Cook Islands- Tribes divided by Race Kidnapping to save someone from tribal council Double boot on one tribe (bottle twist) Final 3 Nine people jury Fiji- Haves vs. Haves not HII (new rules) Two idols hidden at camp Person who seperates tribes is sent to Exile and goes to whoever loses the challenge Switch camps or lose immunity (bottle twist) Idols are rehidden after played Merge is at Exile Island Demerge for one challenge China- Reward winners kidnap Pick two strongest from other tribe and have them join yours Pick 0, 1, or 2 people to join the winner on the final 4 reward Micronesia- Fans vs. Favorites Two people sent to Exile Island, one from each tribe People sent to Exile before the challenge are immune if their tribe loses Final 3 is really a final 2 Eight people jury Last Edited By: Thailandsurvivor 09/13/08 3:31 PM. Guatemala -- Rafe sitting in on the Yaxha TC and giving immunity away on a ballot... which worked like the HII basically, since if he gave it to Brian, all votes for Brian wouldn't have counted and BJ would have been out with one vote.

In Australia, moving to a new merged camp (instead of staying at either Kucha/Ogakor in the girls/boys night out) and the live final vote were both "twists." In Guatemala, there was Cindy's car reward. This is similar to Matt's family reward victory in the Amazon as well. All-Stars was the first time two people won immunity. It's really hard to decide when a new wrinkle in something old is big enough to call it a twist. For example, not having a F3 endurance challenge and playing for 42 days were twists in Outback. Having the switch random and done in ep.4 was new in S4. Having new tribes picked by the younger member of each tribe was new in Amazon, and so was a final IC in front of the jury (which hurt Matt). If you're gonna say that having 19 players is a new twist, that stuff could count too. Hell, F2 rather than F3 was a twist in Borneo.

As far as the random swaps, they'll all go into the same catagory just so you guys arn't reading the same exact thing 4 or 5 times. Same goes for all of the times tribes were picked by two individuals. Amazon didn't have the first IC in front of a jury (Borneo fallen comrades was), but I might add that. Not really sure if I should throw actual challenges in here though because then I'd have to throw the cocunut chopping challenge, fallen comrades, all the auction twists and a few others. As far as the final 2, I probably either have to add that or throw out the merge. I'll decide by the time I post em. Very good list Thailandsurvivor!!!! I posted the idol being rehidden under Fiji since it happened first, and I'll include Micronesia. Marquesas had an ambassadors-type thing but they weren't given any info on it, so that might be more appropriate than Borneo's ambassadors. The only big surprise I can think of that the producers pulled on the players in Borneo was Sean's dad being on the yacht. Marquesas also had a random tribal shuffle that was pretty different from Africa's but I noticed your list is just first-time twists mostly so I don't know if you'd want to include that or not. Either way, definitely looking forward to seeing this when it's ready...

If I include every way a tribal swap happened as a different entry, then there would be a different one for a every season. Africa- send three best people, Marquesas- 100% random, Amazon, youngest picked, Vanuatu- Scout, Guatemala- Producer's trying to help Steph, Exile Island- random to see who gets first pick then switch off ect. Most of these fit into other catagories such as Amazon tribal swap like the Thailand tribe picking. Ambassadors I threw in because it was a twist that did in fact change the game like when Shii Ann spilled her guts to Clay. Rob and Kathy, you get the picture. As far as bigger casts and merge, not sure if I'll keep them in or not. Right now I am just having trouble deciding which is the worst of the worst, alot of shitty ones happened. Also got rid of the 10 people on one tribe thing because it was just pointless to have on the list. Oh and was raiding the other tribe in an earlier season besides PI? It's bugging me that I can't remember, but I'm not 100% if it even did. And again, if I'm missing anything else please help me out.

It also either it disappeared for Thailand, or they just didn't show it because no one ever gave it away.

Have a seperate one for Nate because it kept them safe at TC. 99% sure that it was introduced in Marquesas, but Jenna was the first to do it.

Probst made a big deal out of it the first time he made the offer and then it led to the great F5 TC where Sean asked Kathy to give it to him. Was PI the first time you were allowed to give rewards away to someone else (besides the isolated case of Matt at the family challenge, which was an "everybody or just you" situation)? It's the first time I remember Probst asking anyone if they wanted to.

And in Guatemala, Exile Island and China, there was the 'compete for immunity or feast' twist.
