Winnipeg native Lisa Bell admits that auditioning for Canadian Idol has at moments been very difficult. "There were a few moments that I could have let bring me down and tempt me to go home," Lisa says. "I bounced back and always looked forward. I learned through all of this experience that I have resilience."

Lisa's commitment and hard work paid off and landed her a spot in the Season 6 Top 24, and the moment she found out made it all worthwhile. "My hands went over my face and I took a moment to let it sink in! I couldn't believe I had made it!"

Born into a musical family, Lisa's passion began at a very young age; her father is a singer and songwriter in whose band she sang when she was just beginning to show her musical talents. It was her first real break and experience in the music business.

Lisa is also an accomplished musical theatre performer. She has been a cast member in such musical productions as Footloose, Crowns and Hairspray. "All three shows were accomplishments for me. They were huge challenges to take on; a lot of hard work and dedication were required."

Back home in Winnipeg, Lisa works as a bank teller and manages a coffee shop. When she's not performing, Lisa enjoys reading and hot yoga - an activity she was excited to find out she has in common with fellow Top 24 competitor Tetiana Ostapowych.

Lisa is amazed by the calibre of talent we'll see this season on Canadian Idol. "There are a lot of talented people here who all share the dream to be the next Canadian Idol. You need to find some way to shine your best and brightest." She'll be bringing her confidence, presence and a lot of heart to her performances each week to impress Canadians and show how brightly she can shine.
