The worst offenders are the ones who say it and then walk away without waiting for an answer. DON'T ASK HOW SOMEONE IS UNLESS YOU MEAN IT. You don't really wanna know how they are and they're not gonna answer you how they really are anyway.

Him: Hey, how are you? [voices in my head screaming TELL HIM YOUR MOM JUST DIED!!!] Me: Good. ::awkward silence:: Normally, I'd say "Good, how are you?" to get the conversation flowing. I walked away and had to keep myself from giggling.
