While I do think that he will probably win (why all of the women are approaching him), I don't think that picture is necessarily a clue. I recall when Jason first won individual immunity there was a similar shot of Ozzy looking longingly at the hanging necklace from afar (behind).

Could the dumb move be made one of the girls? The Parv/Nat conversation ("who would fall for that") doesn't indicate that they're talking about Erik does it? Having said that, I can't think of anything that these girls could do wrong, short of giving up the immunity necklace. And even then I can't imagine which of them would be compassionate enough to do it (except possibly Amanda). Surely Cirie and Amanda realise that HII can only be played once.

How would they even go about trying to convince him that a fake idol is better for him than the necklace? This was my theory, that I posted in another thread: 1. Early in the episode, Cirie accidentally finds Ozzy's old HII. 2. Cirie asks to be sent to Exile so she can claim that she found the HII there. 3. Erik wins immunity. 4. Erik is approached by each of the girls to participate in various plans to vote out one of the other girls, in exchange for various supposed Final 3 deals, but he doesn't know who to trust. 5. Eventually, Cirie tells him that she found a HII on Exile Island and shows him Ozzy's idol. Erik looks at it and is convinced that it's a real HII. 6. Cirie tells Erik that she's decided that she can't trust Parvati and she wants to use the HII to blindside her, but the only way for that to work is for the HII to be played by the person who gets the majority of votes. Cirie believes that either Amanda or Catalie will get the majority of the votes, but she isn't 100% which one, and she doesn't want to tell either of them about her plan because she doesn't think either of them will vote out Parvati. BUT, she does know one thing: If he (Erik) were to give up immunity, then all the girls would vote for him. This means that he can then play the HII to eliminate Parvati. 7. Hence, Cirie proposes to Erik that they swap their immunities so that Erik can then play the HII to blindside Parvati. 8. Erik, who, as huge fan of show, is eager to get a chance to blindside someone---and particularly Parvati who blindsided his mancrush Ozzy---loves the idea and agrees to it. 9. So Cirie gives Ozzy's HII to Erik and Erik agrees to give Cirie his immunity necklace at TC. 10. At TC Erik does indeed give his immunity necklace to Cirie and all the girls pretend to be shocked. 11. Erik then votes for Parvati and all the girls vote for him, just as Cirie and Erik had planned. 12. Before the votes are read, Erik plays Ozzy's HII, but is shocked when Probst tells him that it's an old HII than can no longer be played. 13. Then the votes are read and Erik is voted out. I know, it's complicated, but it could happen! And it fits with everything Probst said! : )

You'd have to think if Erik wins immunity, those two would then be the biggest targets and would vote for each other. So Amanda would go next if Cirie, Erik and Natalie all voted for her, and they wouldnt need to use an idol to blindside someone. And you'd have to think that they would all ask if there's another idol in play, particularly if someone goes to exile. Even the girls would ask because if thee isnt an idol in play somewhere, then they wouldnt worry about sending Erik. And even if all of that did happen....I still dont think that would be as dumb as James not playing one of his 2 idols. In this scenario (if everything were to work out exactly as you said), Erik wouldnt be a complete moron to look at Ozzy's old idol and believe it to be an actual one......although he would be dumb not to ask the crew/produces if it was in play before he made the move (and I think they should be obligated to tell him, particularly if it hadnt been officially stated that Ozzy's old HII was out of play or that a new idol had been introduced to the game after Amanda played the last one.) I can see this working out a bit better if Cirie (or any girl for that matter) finds both Ozzy's old idol AND gets ahold of the new HII on Exile. Then it would be a lot easier to convince Erik, or anyone, that an old and out of play idol is actually in play. Even then, I wouldnt consider Erik taking that deal to be the dumbest move ever...I think he'd be more a victim of a brilliant move on someone elses part, and the crew/producers not removing and unusable idol from the game once it expired. He may not try for immunity because he likes the idea of a blindside using the HII like Amanda did but I doubt it. He could use the same excuse, let the other person use the HII. How do they they explain to the others why he gave his necklace away? The closest I can think of is if Eric only tries for immunity if a certain person is leading. If the person they want to save is close then Eric lets them win because he has the HII as backup. The others would all have to play along and let the person win. That way it is not as obvious as just giving the necklace away and leaving himself unprotected.

If they suggest that he take the idol and then lose immunity on purpose to let someone else get it, it would make just as much sense for him to win the immunity challenge and then give that idol to the person they want to save...that way at least Erik makes sure the person they want gone doesnt get immunity.

They say the only way they could vote out Amanda was if both Erik and Natalie were immune (impossible at this point unless a new idol is hidden, which I would call shenanigans on, or this is where the suspected dupe idol comes into play). Erik gives up necklace to rely on dupe idol (incredibly stupid, any way you slice it) and goes. If, as the website clues imply, Natalie and Erik do initially band together, it would make sense as to why Cirie goes to such trouble to separate that unit before F4, where it only takes two votes to get Cirie out on the tiebreaker, and overlooks Amanda this round.

The FAV3 have been playing Survivor like a chess game since the merge, guessing 3 or 4 moves ahead able to predict the other survivors moves, and able to beat them to the punch. After Amanda's performance last episode, the FAV 3 are the most deserving to make it to the final. Can Eric give the HII to someone else just prior to the votes being read? Or does he have to do that prior to the TC?

What I was saying hinged on Cirie actually wanting Erik gone over Amanda. From what we are all speculating here it certainly seems that if everyone's top pick to go at the next TC is Amanda, there certainly would be nothing preventing them from voting her out.

The girls also tell Natalie this so she plays up like she is going home to Erik and asks for the idol. He gives Natalie the idol at the TC but the girls already voted for Erik and he goes home. That would be quite hilarious.
