Just finished watching on abc.com since 10PM is too late for me to catch all the nuances of any episode of "Lost." I, too, could do without all the
Jack/Kate romantic drama, but the one thing that stood out to me in all of their scenes was very near the beginning (around 4:29 on the ABC player, if you want
to check it out.) Jack is reading what I assume is Alice in Wonderland to Aaron while Kate looks on. The last line
Jack reads before closing the book is: "Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle," then there's a nice, tight shot of Aaron's
face. Chills. It made me wonder if everything from first season to last is going to wind up being about Aaron - and his importance to the island/Jacob? I
haven't read all the comments in this thread (yet) so my apologies if this has already been mentioned. :)

When did Sawyer become Claire's big brother anyway? Did something happen that I have forgotten about? His role in the last few eps have been all about
Claire it seems.

Did the smoke detector give us any big clues last night? Is Jack's dad a manifestation of Ol' Smokey? Or maybe satan or at the very least an evil
entity (fire and brimstone and all that?). Yeah they're not supposed to be in purgatory according to the producers. They may just be in an alternate
dimension. But they might be allowed to think they are dead and in purgatory (or heaven for that matter) since Hurley already raised that possibility. The
only odd thing is that the smoke detector seemed to be doing that thing when the battery runs low as opposed to detecting smoke. Maybe the presence of
whatever Jack's dad is simply sucked energy out of the battery instead?
If the island is the nexus point between many dimensions it's hard to tell if anyone is really dead as they may exist in alternate ones and still be breathing. Yet the different copies of the people in the different dimensions may be aware of their fates in the other dimensions. I guess that sort of knowledge might drive you crazy but that's the kind of information that would be powerful and valuable to the likes of Widmore, Hanso, etc. It could also mean that Claire's dad simply escorted her to a different dimension to save her. But of course if she exists in other dimensions there's no real need to save her, is there? This show is still too cornfusing.

Hey Felicia, I thought of you last night as soon as Jack threw on that towel in the first scene. I hope you had your drool bucket with you. For the rest of
us (with the exception of the testosterone lacking poster above who said that E. Lilly is not looking too good), we at least had a wet shower scene
and a gratuitous panty shot of Kate to keep us fully engaged.
I was thinking about giving kudos to those who have been saying for a long time now that Christian Shephard is not dead. But it seems like he is more un-dead. In previous episodes he was more of a phantom, but now he actually lifted the baby up, so he is more than just a ghost. Like many things on this show (the question of whether Jack knew of his own relationship to Aaron when he shouted at Kate that she wasn't even related, for example), the writers left it ambiguous and open to interpretation whether he is alive, dead, or mostly dead. At this point, I think they enjoy torturing those viewers who want all the answers and no new questions. So the island is working on Charlie and on Jack to draw them back. But since Aaron is the key to everything, and has been quite some time, the one that needs some convincing is really Kate. She ain't letting go of that kid so easy. The island better get cracking and whip up a black horse straight away. |

Okay PoChop, that was creepy. You posted about deadness at the same time I was writing about deadness. Are you the ghost in my keyboard? |

OK, I'm going to toss something really weird and metaphysical out there ... The way Karl and Danielle were buried almost looked as if the island had begun
to ingest their bodies.

Ack. You guys and your whining about Kate and Jack. I love them as a couple; they belong together. I think the appendectomy part, while it drug on too long,
was ultimately to show that deep down Jack loves and trusts Kate above all others.
I loved the episode. So does anyone think Hurley is correct that they all really are dead? Remember in Jack's first flash forward when he said they should never have left the island and kept flying, hoping to crash and get back to the island? Perhaps it is a place for the undead or something. But last week's epi, with Ben and Widmore, made me think more that the whole thing is a role playing game with the two super rich dudes just playing to beat each other, not caring about who gets hurt/killed along the way, except for family members, so that doesn't really fit with people being dead. Unless Ben happened to find this island while playing the game and the plane crashing on it ruins his game plans, as now he is afraid people would find it or something. Wow so many random thoughts in my head. |

Okay, on second viewing, I didn't hate ALL of it. I did enjoy the Jin/Charlotte exchange and the Hurley scenes. Still, this is was a bottom 5 episode for sure. |

Yeah, my first thought was that the Sox/Yanks series was the 5-game sweep from August '06. Realistically, it doesn't matter much because we are still
in relatively uncharted territory (the future), in terms of LOST. August 06 would make Aaron a little bit younger than 2 years old, so my guess is that it is
the aforementioned '07 sweep since that would make him a little less than 3 years old, which is about how old he looked in this episode.
I think people just sort of trend towards automatically hating Jack episodes. Kind of like how I zone out during Sun/Jin, Claire, and Sayid episodes. This one, while not a favorite of those who hate either/both of Jack and Kate, was a very good and important episode for setting up the payoffs that will occur for the remainder of the season. |

For me, it's another lackluster episode. What the holy hell? Are you high man? If it's drugs switch drugs now okthx You are talking about the best season ever and right after maybe the best episode ever, if you think we've seen lackluster episodes this year, then you should probably start watching something else. I'm not trying to be a fanboy but I can't help it this quote and that whole post in general was so wack. Also you know nothing about Evangeline Lilly, her teeth not being perfect is CUTE so many people have the straight bleached white capped teeth these days, her teeth are real. And that makes her unique and cool and sexy. Freckles on an adult face are awesome, her ass is crazy tight, and generally she has a body to die for. I would agree she is not model hot, but she has this uniquely American downhome, cornbread and hotdogs look that is extremely endearing to me. Anyway I won't give you more crap about that; looks are personal preferences but goddamn calling her a fucking hobbit who's haggard and wrinkled? sigh... I should have been like Felicia and just smiled and walked away but I had to say something. Sorry. As for the episode it was kind of average but I still thought it was filled with great juicy plot stuff and I had a good time watching it. Isn't it good enough to be simply satisfied after watching anymore? This episode left me feeling like I had a tasty meal, not too full and it wasn't served by Wolfgang Puck... but damn if I didn't enjoy it! |

I am normally not a fan of the Jack episodes either, but this one actually yielded some answers to a few questions. The timeline is a lot clearer for one
thing.
And even though this was a Jack flash, I was pleased to see how much Sawyer was all over it too. I'm cool with the lack of Sawyer centric episodes as long as he plays a big part in most of them. He was even present off island with Kate in more ways than one. The smoke alarm at the hospital didn't seem to be malfunctioning to me. I assume that Christian/Smokey/Jacob (maybe even Claire now) are all tied together and that the smoke alarm detecting his presence was a manifestation of that power. All in all I would give it 4/5 stars. It was heavy on details, if not fireworks. |

How many toes does that thing have?
Good catch. I loved the episode - I think it filled in some blanks time wise. Don't forget Aaron's biblical significance - I really think he's the key. Also, who was the dead guy in the preview? |

Jack getting sick was a completely necessary part of the the story. A question that first popped into my head a long time ago was...how one earth is it that
Jack ends up leaving the island without getting everyone else off? WHY would he leave before he accomplished that?
They have given us that answer...he got sick...and is forced to leave, by the remaining survivors. But what Rose said interests me very much too. How is it Jack gets sick on the island that actually cures? I was wondering that about Ben also...but now believe the reason he may have gotten sick...is because he actually was off and on the island alot, unbeknownst to most of The Others. (Juliet) |

I had another question:
Most likely, the "favor" for Sawyer that Kate is doing is in regards to either Cassidy or his daughter. Unless I'm mistaken, Cassidy and Kate were traveling together in one of Kate's flashbacks, and, to my knowledge, we haven't seen the little reveal that Kate is more connected to Sawyer than she originally thought. Did anyone else find it kind of weird that they didn't acknowledge the fact that Kate and Cassidy knew each other in a separately distinct way from their mutual closeness to Sawyer? (in this episode, that is) |
