Can't Bring Me Down

Jacqueline reflects on where her friendship with Danielle went wrong.

I am writing to address Danielle's blog. Why am I not surprised to see that she is playing the victim once again? Danielle knows exactly why we are not friends anymore. She did something HORRIBLE behind the scenes to destroy Dina and my family. We have PROOF of it. I wish I could say what it is, but that's Dina's call. The other reasons were after seeing the show I got some threatening phone calls from Danielle. She didn't like what I had to say about her on camera so she flipped out on me. I honestly didn't think that I said anything that bad. Sometimes you get cut off from finishing a sentence when it comes to TV as well, and I had tried to explain that to her. I didn't appreciate the way she spoke to me. She told me to stay away from her and her "real" friends. I still don't know what she was talking about. I certainly haven't spoke to any of her friends about anything because I don't even know what I would have spoke about. I don't even know her friends. The night before the reunion show she called my sister-in- law to try to turn her against me with lies! I didn't appreciate that either. I have heard all over town that she is trashing me and plans to "bring me down," whatever THAT means. It's enough for me to know that I don't need someone like that in my life that could turn on me so quick because they don't like my opinions when asked about their lifestyle.

I know a lot of things about Danielle's past as well as her present and I STILL tried my best not to judge her and I still continued to be her friend. It didn't matter to me as long as it didn't interfere with my life. Her life and her choices are her own...not mine. I was a very good friend to Danielle. I did a lot for her to help her out. A LOT! More than I wish I had. Perhaps I was conned like everyone else who enters her life. Everything that Danielle did for me was calculated. It was not from her heart. She would do something nice for me and then ask me numerous times if I told my husband that she did it. Sometimes she wanted me to tell my sisters-in-law. She demanded I put in one of my blogs that SHE was the one who introduced me to her OB/GYN and actually got mad at me after viewing the first episode that I hadn't mentioned that in the show, like I control the editing process. I laughed when I saw the next episode where I actually DID mention that Danielle gave me the Doctors name. Does anyone really care about that? Does it really matter? I think my husband and I were the ones who are responsible for me getting pregnant...not Danielle. She would always get mad at weird things like that. She only drove me to ONE doctor's appointment, by the way, not every time like she claimed to have done. LIE! Yes, Danielle helped set up CJ's party tables when the cameras were rolling, but the second they stopped filming for a while...Danielle left. She wants credit for ANY nice gestures she does. When you do something nice for someone you shouldn't need or want recognition for it. Like I said, she is calculating! Danielle NOT ONCE asked to me to gather my family to talk about "the book." That is so ridiculous for her to even say when Danielle has EVERY one of their phone numbers! She could have called each of them herself. Why would she need me as if I was her secretary? Ridiculous! My sisters-in-law had NOTHING to do with my choice to end my friendship with Danielle. I would never have given her a chance if I had listened to them and the rest of the town and surrounding towns. That's not how I am. I give everyone a chance. I make my own decisions based on my own experiences with them. Over time, my experiences with Danielle...lead me to this. I stuck by Danielle when no one else would. I am so disappointed and hurt by Danielle. I really don't want to trash her with everything that I know about her. Which is a LOT! I just want her to go away and stay out of my life. I have much more important things in my life to focus on. I hope Danielle gets the help that she needs.

This show never did it for me.

The table flip was good, but really, that's it.

Danielle brings the nutso, but it's so skeevy. Big mouth drama queen Caroline controls everything, including the sister's comments, and her entire shtick bored me after about 10 minutes. Dina is too controlled and savvy. Jacqueline is boring as fuck as stepford wife to the mob, and will only get interesting if she punches Caroline out on camera, or flips her lid and gets her hands on a Tommy Gun to take them all out. Teresa is kind of fascinating really, in a pathetic clueless way.

I would say the best solution is to break it up.

Keep Caroline, but dump Dina and Jacqueline so that her "power" is diminished.
Keep Teresa but bring in her biggest enemy, the sister-in-law.
I am torn about keeping Danielle. Her behavior certainly makes for unpredictable TV, but the woman seems dangerous.
Bring in a young, hot wife that isn't Italian, with a real Jersey accent, preferably blond with real boobs and real money.

If that blog is correct, Teresa's husband is near bankruptcy, and that might be interesting to watch. She could move into a skeevy house once owned by another. Danielle, at the producers prompting, could make sure Teresa finds out about her husband's notorious fooling around on the side.

I think Dina will quit anyway. She hates the mob talk, and I do think Danielle fucked with something about her kid, and her latest blog is all about some book she read and her inner zen. I doubt she wants to play anymore.

Jill Zarin Long day..got up early and went with Ally to see the Fashion Show Finale at Cipriani. All NJ housewives were there. Interesting. Danielle much smaller and prettier in person ( could be hair extensions?). Everyone civil but it felt like ICE in the room. Jaqueline having hard time with feelings about the drama. The women love all the press and attention. A few designers were standouts. Betsey Johnson there. So cute!

Before I begin, you need to click on the video above to see the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion spoof on Chelsea Lately that aired last night on E! It is beyond hilarious.

Now to the real reunion...

I was shocked that part one of the reunion show last night was so boring. Then I realized that Danielle is only conflict that exists between all these women. If she weren't on the show, everyone would get along beautifully. They must be doing something right, because the ratings rule, but it will be interesting to see if anyone associates with Danielle next season. It is the only way to stir up the pasta pot yet again.

Caroline looked beautiful. Her dress was so pretty and lovely. It was a humorous contradiction to her stern personality. I think Danielle looks better with shorter hair. I also find Dina to be very beautiful.

I agree with the quote from the New York Times that, for the most part, these women were believable, the table flip notwithstanding. I think it was idiotic for Danielle to bring the book to the dinner, not because of its racy contents, but simply because it is idiotic to bring a book to dinner. Everyone kept focusing on the fact that a book about prostitution and drugs shouldn't be brought to a dinner with children. Danielle wasn't going to read passages from the book as though it were Passover or a bedtime story. In fact, Danielle bringing the book to the table was one of the more contrived events of the season. However, it was meant to spark a conversation. Teresa talking about her sex life and the eventual table toss certainly wasn't PG either.

How can I delicately say the following but just to say it? Is Teresa a total moron? "Cleansi-ness?" Dear god, please tell me that English is her second language. I heard her speak Italian to her husband, and if Italian is her first language I would understand this more clearly. It used to be that she had no idea how to utter a grammatically correct sentence, but now she is using words that don't exist. I do agree with her that performing is what her daughter Gia wants. That was illustrated throughout the season. I will reserve my former stage-mom comments.

Regarding the gay comment, it was amusing when Teresa ended up calling people who were offended stupid, then inadvertently called host Andy Cohen stupid. Frankly, Teresa calling anyone stupid is amusing. Her husband probably is a bit homophobic and a bit ignorant. Gay is out of his comfort zone.

Jacqueline is sweet as sugar. She manages to be so likable and entertaining without boring the audience. I also agree that Danielle isn't the sole reason for the discord in that family. I can tell that Caroline isn't very forgiving, and no sins get past her. She is right when she said that ultimately you wake up with your wife. Chris must be sweating bullets.

Caroline hates new people. She illustrated that several times this season. She comes from a place of family and doesn't seem to want any outsiders. She takes this matriarchal tough-guy thing a bit too seriously though. But I get it. I also am one of those people who are very happy with my small, strong circle of people.

Jacqueline's slap story literally felt like a bedtime story. If those eight hours were edited down to that, I can't imagine how boring that day must have been. I think so much damage was done and so much was said during the season that they probably were all stripped of any emotion or fight. How many times can you beat a dead horse? Or in this case a former prostitute/convict.

Then we had some more tough-guy "earn it and I'll respect you" rhetoric from Caroline. She lets us know again that she doesn't like people before she likes them. We get the message. I don't think people are stupid enough to actually think that they have mob ties and go on a reality show. I think that making these tough-guy statements makes people think that Caroline thinks she's a gangster. I definitely don't think Caroline ever meant anything negative about her daughter or her family. She lives for her kids. Her sarcastic comment about her lifelong dream of her son owning a strip club was poignant and amusing. She is a great mother.

I disagree that even if Tamra or Jill lived in Sicily that anyone would think they have mob ties. Some of these Jersey girls really fit that mold. The jobs in construction, the name Teresa, the furniture for cash, the big McMansions, the German shepherd and the best friend of Caroline's who is the former police commissioner who used state money for shady activities. Go figure why these rumors started.

I also love that they all really are housewives and they take pride in running households. This really is the only leg of this franchise that is "housewife authentic."
