I think they should go to loyalty islands since, like it or not, they're not big fans of living the island locations so why not have an ironic type of location for it?

I'm afraid ASS2 may be the last season.

if it goes past ASS2, i'd like the see Venezuela. They could have like a dinosaur/archaeological/local indian theme, it would be interesting!

I really think that if ASS2 is the last season, that's gonna suck "All-Stars Survivor" . I think the last season should be something with all of the Survivors. Except a few...

I've always really wanted to see a Greek theme.
Surely they could find a Greek isle that's a national park, or even an inland national park ala Guatemala. |

S16 will film in the Southern Hemisphere or within a few degrees of the Equator. They avoid the North during the winter mostly due to daylight issues. They may try Africa again - some place stable - South Africa, Botswana or Namibia. They could do New Zealand or perhaps Madagascar, we know EPM scouted it. Argentina is out; EPM is a Falklands War vet. Maybe Chile. New Caledonia has been bantered about in the past but its unstable. With the declining ratings, cost will become more and more of an issue. That makes me think low-risk as in South Africa or Chile.
What do we care anyway? The cast will suck. For some reason the suits at CBS think we want more LA slackers and recruits. They think that running a scam - bordering on fraudulent - application process that insults their hardcore fan base is a winning business plan - guess I was hungover and missed that lecture at B-School or maybe that's a new idea being pushed at Pepperdine and UCLA. What they don;t understand is that Survivor is a different type of Reality show. Gameshows are reality shows that have staying power, when they stick to what their fans like. Sports is reality TV and Survivor still has better ratings than say the NBA or NHL. Survivor seems more like a sports franchise than say a true reality show like Miami Ink. But the CBS braintrust has, I guess, concluded that Survivor is on a ratings arch that gimmicks will only slightly alter and delay the eventual fade. But what the hell do I know? I'm just a flyoverland dumbass way too lame to live in SoCal - just like the rest of you. Cheers 7 |

Quote: I think at this point its actually the opposite, its worth putting more effort into location (etc.) to help save ratings declining any more. Wait til the ratings are down to 10-12m or less and then it'll be about saving money. |

Yeah, I'm hoping (but I'll believe it when I see it) that with China, they're finally beginning to really think about each location instead of resorting to South Pacific or Panama.
Hasn't Patagonia and Mozambique been mentioned a couple of times as possible locales? |

If S16 is ASS2 they'll be back in the Cook Islands. It's definately the best "Island" location they've ever had, with all of the fruit/fish available and the clear water.
I just hope they'd mix up the challenges a hell of a lot more than the first time they were there. |

This show can't die, what will happen to US reality TV after that? They can't end a serie like Survivor, at least not now.

16 seasons isn't bad at all.

Pirate Master tanked, though, which is throwing the calculus off on Survivor's future. Burnett has lost a lot of quality control in recent years, and really needs to get that back before launching another show.

They can definitely squeeze Survivor out to 20 seasons. I know I'll still watch. As for future locations, Back to the Outback! I don't care if it wasn't officially the outback. The title is catchy and the outback ranks as one of the best seasons, if not the best, of Survivor.

PI is the best season IMO, and going back there really worked well.

Well it's a matter of opinion. For me,
All stars and Exile Island >>>>>>>>>>>> Pearl Islands. |

If they can't stay in China for another season, Palau makes the next most sense. It's much closer to China than the Cook Islands.
