Can anyone tell me why the editors add all of the ridiculous sound effects at Tribal Council? This has only occured in the newer seasons, and it irritates me.

It may be a bit over-the-top, but I found the echoing eagle sound effects applied to Coach at jury hilarious and more than appropriate.

Well it's ok with someone who's already theatrical, like Coach, but when you have loud bangs and such when Stephen is trying to answer a simple
question, it gets ridiculous.

In the Tocantins recap episode, during a "coming up" segment where they previewed Coach talking about a snake, they played a track that seemed like a
mix of the Micronesia, Gabon, and Tocantins themes. Is this track in the Tocantins soundtrack, and if so, what is its name?

If anyone's interested, I just created an "Ancient Voices: Samoa" theme, using all the musical elements you'd suspect - traditional Samoan
instruments, with an extended climax due to a likelihood of 18 contestants.

Here ya go :) http://www.zshare.net/audio/60401720193d8fce/ (I actually did so much more with this
than is perceptible to the ear but because the original 'ancient voices' is sooo full of instruments and rich in percussive ideas, it was hard to
really add much to it without making the levels go nuts. I wish I could have access to Russ Landau's Pro Tools files :P.)

That was very good. I liked the sound that held the beat to the song. And the whole thing sounded great.
Great Job! |

It doesnt have that later Survivor Intro feel, its sounds alot more like the originals (S1 and S2) which I like. |

Thanks %$@@% :) As I said, it was basically impossible to do anything remarkably different with it due to the intense layering of the original. However I just
purchased some Polynesian virtual sound files and I'm going to do this again, and actually try and create the whole song from scratch -- something I
personally think Russ should do in an upcoming season (I love the song but after 18 seasons it needs some sort of revamp). Just hope I can find some suitable
clean vocals for the "ay-ee-ohh" Russian chant.

OMG! I found it! The original Ancient Voices chant, totally a capella!

If this hasn't been posted before, the Russian folk chant is called "On The Street" (http://www.amazon.com/gp/...id=1243093787&sr=103-1).
It's performed by the Dmitri Pokrovsky Ensemble on the album "The Wild Field" (track 14).
This has probably been posted before, but anyway, the lyrics to the chant (translated from Russian into English, and occasionally Swahili and Mandarin etc :P) are: "All melodious poets shall be hoarse as street ballads, when once the penetrating keynote of nature and spirit is sounded-- the earth-beat, sea-beat, heart-beat, which make the tune to which the sun rolls, and the globule of blood and the sap of the trees." |
