some great performances, albeit a little bit melodramatic, which i suppose fits the subject matter
i thought the declaration episode was stronger although i kept waiting for people to break out into the 1776 libretto

but why is John Adams always neurotically freaking-out when forced outside of his loner, intellectual life-style?

Yup, we watched it. Incredible miniseries. |

I loved it. I never would have thought to cast Giamatti as Adams but it works.

I keep expecting Ben Franklin to run out of his lover's house, dick flapping in the wind, with only his geeky buddy Johnny A to save his ass.

it's pretty good. amazing at times, pretty bad at times (sometimes it feels like it's just a blockbuster a&e documentary)

I was just thinking that there aren't any movies about the revolution. Later wars get all the attention. But there are lots of great stories hidden in the
founding fathers.

Tom Wilkinson is lovely as Ben Franklin.
I find Laura Linney to be fantabulous. |

During my teenage/High School years I lived in Quincy Mass.
The Adamses were sorta omnipresent in our reality, and my Junior High school was literally in the same neighborhood with the various Adams homesteads. |

I liked it a lot. And I did break out the 1776 tunes! Piddle, twiddle and resolve, not one damn thing do we solve!

I got all goosebumpy at the reading of the Declaration of Independence. What an amazing thing, truly.
