Typical garbage from a fresh Doc not sure of themselves- better to have Jonathan lose a chance at a million bucks than to risk relying on the facts to support a diagnosis.

And another thing- notice Jeffy looking on and not saying much? He went to medical school and knew the babe Doc was full of shit, but he didn't want her to
look bad. I didn't hear Jeffy jump in there with a "Yeah, it looks bad!" or "Hey Jonathan, you might lose your leg!" If it was really
bad, Jeffy would have yanked Jonathan out himself.

Probst is the one who said Jonathan had to be looked at by the doctor. He said it right before the challenge started. Since when did Probst become a doctor
though?

To me it looked more like an abscess. I think the "IV Antibiotics" line was actually out of line.
what it needed was an Incision and Drainage. Cut it Open let the pus drain. He didn't need a hospital for that strictly speaking. Just needs a scalpel, some lidocaine and some gauze and a doctor to check up on him every day. Granted, out in the wild, it would probably be more prone to reinfection and not heal as well. Basically the survivor "babe" doctor was taking the safest route. Hey Even survivor doctors can get sued! |

I love all the doctors here acting as if the editors showed us EVERYTHING that happened or that they were actually there in person. Yes, we're all like
House and we can diagnose thousands of miles away with limited information~!

Thank you Jonathan for clarifying. He had 8 initial stitches, then 40+ after that. Hardly sounds minor.
victalac, there is this thing called "editing" where they take raw footage of everything they filmed and cut it down to what is pertinent within the confines of time limitations. Just going out on a limb here but it's possible they didn't actually air all the footage between the end of the challenge and him leaving? -SJ™ |

If they had just drained his leg. The infection would still be there. What happens when they have the next challenge and its physical? I cringe at the
thought. Jon could have messed it up even more. There was no way that was getting better unless they took him out. It would have only gotten worse. Once
the infection set in he was done.

They should have let him stay in then!

I think that crafty Alexis is behind this. She was the one who was strapped together with Jonathan in the challenge so she would have had the best opportunity
to shove a pointy stick through his leg when no one was looking. And then if you look very carefully at the scene with Jonathan and the doctor you can see what
appears to be a female hand slipping a note to the doctor. I think it was Alexis or Parvati who passed her the note and it probably said some to the effect of
"Tell Jonathan he needs to leave the game. You will be rewarded. Please destroy this note. Your friend, P.A.N."
Oh, I should mention that despite what she told Jonathan (in the bonus clip) I think Alexis (and Natalie) have a secret alliance with Parvati. There's no way the 3 of them aren't behind this! |

I guessing none of the naysayers have actually had an abscess... I would have thought that by the time a person has a temp and WBC issues the infection is
severe enough to be life threatening.
What are victalacs medical credentials btw?

Additionally it might help to remember that they were in a very damp, infection prone environment.
Not Jonathan's living room, or even the woods in the temperate United States. The fact that the wound wasn't responding to the anti-biotics was pretty huge considering that he would be expected to live in a primitive environment and to compete in challenges, etc. Or do a lot of Doctors where you live recommend that someone with a puss filled abscess not responding to antibiotics return to living in the jungle, on a pile of sticks on a muddy beach, eating substandard food, and bathing in water that has to be boiled to drink? |

Victlalac. They never showed the Dr. taking his temperature, or his blood so you might be right in this being a freshman Dr.'s fatal mistake. Also, since
he had stitches in his other leg (he mentioned this in his interviews) that healed well, he wasn't naturally prone to infection. They never showed the
other leg and it healed up fine. The mistake this Dr. made (she was pretty is that why she was the Dr.?) was SEWING UP A PUNCTURE WOUND. NEVER WHAT YOU DO. It
would have been better off open so it could be cleaned properly. Clearly they closed it up and sewed in something that caused the infection. Too bad they cost
him the million by sewing him up and then taking him out of the game against his will. Poor Jonny Blue Eyes.

Having a wife and family he obviously couldn't take the risk after she said his life could be threatened...he knew his woman would've whooped his ass
if he'd taken the risk...BLOWS!! That wench doctor left him with no choice!! Thank God he's okay and everything's healing well...but he said he
had 40-some stitches post-op so it was obviously much more serious than it looked on the outside...if they'd left it open to heal and not sewn all the mud
up inside...!!
