Let me count the ways: - I really didn't need to be David/Mary, JVJ, or Uchenna/Joyce again (or Kevin/Drew since they got all surly). I especially didn't need to see that other team. - The legs in Zanzibar, HK, and Hawaii/SF sucked. - South America was boring as hell. - The logistics crew need to be shot. - The people responsible for making such wickedly unbalanced Detours in the middle of the season should've followed them. - The airport drama was tedious, as was the moralizing. - The bunching was insane - the "weather" at the dhows, the buses in Poland leaving 12 hours after teams started the leg, the two bunches in Macau before the roadblock (three if you count the ferry) Overall, it was a really shitty season wedged between two decent ones (a theme that has occured, with few exceptions, since TAR3). The only good things about it were the character redemption (the Guidos, Teri/Ian and the BQs), the Yield-for-cash deal, Charla wiping out twice in the knight suit, and Mirna flipping out in Poland.

Posts: 5533 (03/06/08 3:06 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I liked the Guidos so much more in TAR1 - not just as characters, but as people - despite how snobby they were, they clearly had a great relationship and most of their "evil" moves were either decent strategic ploys (blocking the gate) or well-deserved mockeries (taking the piss out of Frank in Leg 1). In TAR11 they were just creepy old farts with no sense of humour. Best boot order ever - even with two of my least favourite teams in #1 and #2. It was definitely one of the most lopsided seasons ever in terms of entertainment value - take out the Chas, Mirna, Rob and Eric and 90% of the show would disappear. The race-course was really variable, but I thought the good legs had better tasks than anything in TAR10 too (Leg 2, the first Poland leg, Guam), though there were some real stinks (counting steps - that's the kind of shit fanmade races do, CBS can afford better). Worst things about the season: 1. The bullshit excuse to stop Mirna from owning the game 2. The Intersection fucking over the Guidos 3. Danielle BB:AS > TAR11 > ASS > Half-Ass The legs in Zanzibar, HK, and Hawaii/SF sucked. The Hong Kong leg won an Emmy

The Intersection fucking over the Guidos 3. Danielle Agreed. I hated Mirna, but if the dhow were going to go out the next night anyway, you might as well let them take their day lead. They would still get bunched by the Intersection, so no harm no foul. As for the Intersection, I think the Guidos were infintely screwed over by that production arranged flight missing its connection. I know at RFF they found that that flight had a 10 minute connection time, which probably wouldn't get booked on a domestic flight. Had they (and their flight buddies) made that arranged flight, they would've finished in the afternoon like everyone else (presumably before Charla and Mirna) and there would've been a wildly different endgame. What Emmy did the HK leg win? I thought that they nominated the leg in Ha Long Bay this year.

He was pissed that he should in first place. During detour in that leg, he misspelled Philippines and the judge wasn't right the sign correction. I thought that they nominated the leg in Ha Long Bay this year. I think that ep just won a Director's Guild award, but the Emmy submission tape did include the Hong Kong leg as well as the TAR10 one (so it was taken into consideration by the voters - they usually have an ep from both seasons of the year).

AR at its worst is better than every other reality show, thus why Hong Kong leg could win the emmy [even thought i thought it was episode 4 from season 10] Secondly Mirna did now own this game. Her HUGE lead in Zanzibar was not that huge over The Blondes, Cha cha cha, nor Uchenna and Joyce it was only a couple of hours, so even if the boats left they would had a couple hour lead and still won the leg to then they would still fuck up at the travel agent when the BQ's would still get the best flight to poland. Nevermind Mirna and Charla did blow a three hour lead in Malaysia. These two ruled shit they sucked. Also to mention they barely survived legs 1, 2, 3, or 4. So they sucked legs 1-4 got lucky in leg 5, did good leg six, sucked for legs 7/8 in Poland, sucked in Malaysia, sucked in Hong Kong, did good in Macau and decent in Guam and the finals. And the intersection fucked the blondes not the Guidos.

I wish i could contribute something worthy to this thread but I hate this season so much I haven't forced myself to rewatch it yet to see anything good from this season. Therefore I forget mostly everything except for that it just sucks, lol. And I'm not just an ERic/Danielle hater. Them winning was freakin awesome because it forced most fans to also hate this season as much as I did....had BQ's or Mirna won then somehow people would say it was a good season -ick that would be hard to swallow. My hatred stems from the less-than-all star locations, challenges and teams selected. I think they had the whole race planned before they knew it would be an all star season which is unfortunate. Plus, they waited way too long for All Stars thus leaving too many great teams (and seasons) out. I love how the banner up there has been jammed since Teri/Ian were eliminated from an AMAZING fish puzzle that my 2 year old child that I dont' have could have done in less than 10 minutes. Oh I also hate that there weren't more winners brought back. The excuse was they wanted teams with new dynamics in their relationship...then why the hell were Dustin and Kandice brought back? They were absolute "All Stars"- i'm not denying that - but what could possibly have "dynamically changed" between two sorta friends who have known each other for a year and just got back from season 10 a few months prior? BS! They were only brought back to win (rigged?) so them not winning makes me want to post that pic of nelson going HA HA. They should have had atleast 12 teams especially since they just followed a season with 12 teams. TARAS byfar had the worst premiere episode (the detour or whatever was so horrid they tried to edit it out entirely, lol). Some of the teams like Kevin/Drew and Uchenna/Joyce didn't even give a shit. We thought Family Edition had dumbed down the challenges but mostly of what I remember they out-dumbed the challenges for "All Stars" even more. Wasnt a challenge they had to paint letters onto wood and carry it down a flight of stairs? i give up. I'm afraid if i rewatch this season i'll start to like it.

Had their taxi arrived earlier, then they could've won the Fast Forward that leg, unless both U/J and O/D decide to ignore them . The Intersection simply made them fall to 3rd. The intersection truly destroyed the Guidos' chances. But then, the taxi could be argued too since if their taxi arrived first, then they might've teamed up with the BQs, they could've survived and Eric/Danielle could've been toast that leg. What could've been... Charla/Mirna ROCKED the flights. But ya, I agree, they bled time too much when it came to racing around the city. Although I did think they did well the Mozambique (they made the right choices) and Tanzania (they ironically were eliminated in the same country ) legs and they did fair the Asia/Guam/SF legs, they bled way too much time on the Poland and South America legs.

CBS obviously wanted the BQs and Romber to go far, given how they deliberately avoided strong teams like Tara/Wil or Ken/Gerard (and considered casting teams as poor as Peggy/Claire). Wasnt a challenge they had to paint letters onto wood and carry it down a flight of stairs? Yes, but it managed to destroy Boston Rob, who must have only been used to pisspoor TAR7 challenges like "look in a metal box", "tie a log to your car" and "sit in a boat and hope it doesn't break down"

Sure, it was a one person team, but until a very untimely undoing, that team was kicking ass, unlike most of the teams from earlier seasons, who had either become senile, fat, or their piss-poor navigating skills got even worse.

It depends on how you look at it. If it's in terms of time wasted/lost, then obviously the Blondes were the biggest victim. But if you look at it in the big picture, the Guidos were fucked WAY more because it DID seal their fates by forcing them to have no lead over the team currently in last (Eric & Danielle) and hence caused their elimination since there was no way to escape the 30min penalty with Eric/Danielle the most (in a best case scenario) 5-15 minutes behind them.

You know, if we had to have a Team Hybrid because of "changing relationships" shit it should of have been Tara with Alex because Alex would say yes in a second. Drew said no to a Flo/Drew team on all stars (and CBS said no to a Flo/Zach return for that matter because of Zach working for another network or something). So that leaves us Tara & Alex since that was the big, constant storyline from their season and no one knew or cared about Eric/Danielle. They were shown flirting at a pit stop once. Big freaking deal. Tara and Alex were shown doing far more than that all race long. They were the two Racers set up most other than Drew and Flo for a follow-up story by their season's edit. They dated afterward,we would learn, than parted on good terms and remain good friends. NOT Eric and Danielle where after all stars Eric comes online to smear and piss on Danielle even though they freaking won. So the changing relationships shit was just desperate back peddling PR bullshit trying to sugar coat a win even production knew would be deeply hated once TAR11 was broadcast. About the lousy race course and the mention that it probably wasn't put together for all stars? That is right. CBS made the producers turn TAR11 into TAR all stars and did so way too late in the game to re-design the TAR11 race course. And about Kevin & Drew being surly? Only Drew on meds got that way. You'll never see Kevin be anything but his old, funny self the two legs of TAR11 they raced. Kevin was still awesome Kevin. Too bad for that fight in the courthouse Drew had to break up that lead him to become Drew on Meds instead of Good Old Drew. He did his duty and now will suffer back shit the rest of his life. BQs were lost in a second leg in Poland, they were arrived third in Theatre in Krakow, they were waited for Charla/Mirna for 4 hours to teamed them in Intersection.

You might wanna check your sources. I exchanged emails with Tara after TARAS started airing. Here are a few excerpts from her responses to me: hey jason, wow for some reason i am getting a lot of mail since all stars came around. i was not asked to do allstars, but i know casting spoke with wil about us and said that since we are friends there would be no drama there and it would be boring, they said they would maybe cast us as racers but it seems they didn't cast any racers but rob and amber and the guidos. I may be biased a bit but i do not believe the best racers are on the race now and i do not believe the best racers have ever won a season., except perhaps family edition. anyways i have not been able to watch the show yet. for some reason i have been busy every sunday so far. i have a ton of cousins and they keep having things go down on sundays and i have not been able to get in front of the tv. I am bummed because of course i would be routing on my boys danny and ozzie. I have gone on the site and seen the race and think both wil and i would do good so far since we jsut took the same trip about 2 years ago with my husband and his girlfriend on business but then me and my husband went off to chile and patagonia. i did see ozzie right before the show started in NYC and it sounded like he loved it and had a much easier and better time this time around. He told me a few tidbits about it but i made him keep a tight lip so i could enjoy it like a fan but of course i have yet to see it once. i am a loser. as for hanging out with any of the cats from the show i still hang out with ozzie when i go to ny, i am very good friends with both shola and doyin, in fact shola is getting married at my house this summer, wil and i still talk almost everyday (he changed dramatcially for the better after the show), and dave (who is now in kasmir writing). i talk to the grannies every so often as well as the preachers when ever they come out here. As for the racers from other seasons i love seeing them when the race parties happen and am close with chris (from chris and amanda, and i love jonathon...i know but he is cool and a complete gentleman) we are all friends and whenever the oppurtunity hits i try and see them. as for my favorite teams on all stars...there is only one love for me...and if they don't win (which i think they do) it would be joyce and uchenna (who i love). i must be honest i do not know half the teams on the race. i was actually shocked by the cast for allstars. who are half these people? not to be mean but there is much better teams then the ones cast (with the exception of D and O, the frats, the guidos, and joyce and uchenna.... [...] other then that they are all kind of so-so to me. i would have loved to see frank and margarita, the football wives (who are awesome), the girls who looked for hours in the hay bales (sorry i don't remember their names), ken and gerard...love them... and chris and jon (whom i have never met but thought they raced great) and i still to this day think zach is the best male racer ever so him with anyone would have been great. hope that answers some of your questions. it seems that i get emails from fans of the show and they always say that no one ever writes them back so if you ever have questions don't feel strange about asking.... hopefully i can get to watch sundays episode, but i am sure some cousin somewhere has something going on. peace and elephant rides tara When she found out I posted at this message board, she requested that I remove certain parts of the email, and that is why I never posted any of the emails to begin with.

Charla/Mirna chose to care package to donate items in small towns in Guam. Cha Chas were lost on a streets of Guam to find the U.S. Naval Base. Danielle was struggled to find a man to rescue.
