If I understand federal law correctly, it states that if you wear that much makeup, you are by law required to face trial in California.

Well, that makes sense. Good thing we have someone so familiar with federal law!

BTW, I'm pretty sure I heard Kate's lawyer say "Don't fire me, ok?" and then he said something about not doing well in the opening. THEN
he brought out Jack as the witness. I say this because people were saying that the defense doesn't go first. Well, maybe we just didn't see that
part. It's possible, right?

I'm with you on that. This isn't Law and Order, no reason for them to show us the whole trial.

If this were Law and Order, McCoy would have Kate strapped to old sparky by now

I was also a little tiffed about the license they took w/ the trial episode :: there's no way they finished opening arguments & then they the
defense call in Jack. As soon as they finished their openings, Kate's mom would have been rolled up as the 1st witness for the prosecution.

That trial was full of it, at first I was pissed, then I just accepted it as TV and Kate was going to have to get off to advance the storyline.
All her charges were not Federal so it makes no sense that they all would be tried in a federal court. Even if you took out the whole murder/arson case away, Kate still had at least a half dozen felonies & probably more misdemeanors. She had trying to ram her car into a road block, killing an innocent man, assault on police officers, assault on FBI agents, theft of auto, bank robbery, fraud...I am sure I am forgetting some. Just the fact she went through the road block(even with no death involved) would get her some time. There was no logical way she was going to get off on the smaller crimes so I just have to over look it, but it really irked the crap out of me. |

What innocent man did she kill? I'm drawing a blank. Or did you mean Tom, since it's her fault he died?

Blah blah blah. Do you think, REALLY think they're going to have multiple trials for this character on TV? GMAB. The only important thing story-wise is for
her to get through to her mom and get her not to testify. The other charges don't matter for this to be accomplished. You want realism stick to Court TV.
