I had it done in January of 2000, so it's been over 8 years for me. I don't know what my eyeglass prescription was but my contacts were negative 600 and 650 (I was blind as a mofo). I had the procedure, went home, took a nap, and woke up to instant results. I had some dry eye for a while, maybe 1-2 months, but no other problems. I have been 20/20 ever since, although I do think it's starting to slip a little now. Last week I went for a new drivers license...I just moved to Texas so I needed to take the vision test. I had to squint a little, but was able to read the bottom line.

My dr would only do one eye at a time, so that in case of any problems, only one eye would be messed up. But it went well and the second eye was done one week later. I've never heard of anyone else doing one eye at a time, but whatever. It was a pain in the ass at the time, but ultimately worked out well.

Best thing I have ever done. Even 8 years later, it's STILL awesome to not need contacts or glasses.
