the description on my tv for wednesday's episode says: "the first houseguest is evicted". So is a pair of soulmates getting evicted that early??

Well, being they've been in the house for about a week now, that sounds about right.

Last season, did they not have the first HOH during the first episode? I thought that Kale and Eric(?) won it and then Dick, Dustin and Jessica gave it to
Kale on the first episode. Do they usually already have an HOH right away? Don't they let them get to know each other for a bit first? Or am I
remembering that incorrectly?

I'm pretty sure that they've (atleast almost) always held the HoH comeption the night they all move into the house. The first episode is usually
dedicated to the first night up until the nominations. It is possible there is a live eviction on the 13th but I doubt it since we will only have had two
episodes to get to know all of the guests and two of them would be leaving too soon. I heard the first eviction is on the 20th..but I could be wrong.

We've never had an eviction on the premiere eppysode. It is usually at least a week or more from then...but w/ the bigger cast, (likely) shorter season I wouldn't be surprised if this were true. Still would suck tho, the first hamster(s) that we NEVER get to see on the feeds. |

where the social dynamics also need to be given attention.

Someone @ BBQ already posted that the first eviction would be on Feb. 20th.

Well gosh darn, the writers appear ready to settle their strike, thus the BB season could be quite short, not 10 weeks like we are used to. So we can expect
an eviction probably the first "week" the show is actually on the network, although they will have been in the house about a week when it premiers in
a couple of days.

Actually 10 weeks is ideal. Scripted shows usually take six weeks to shoot one episode. Add in the one or two weeks to gather everyone on the shows, and then
another week for last-minute editing. A ten-week show is actually perfect. If BB had started on-air shows a week later, then the season may have been
truncated, but right now, it doesn't look likely to be abridged.

I dont think its the Writers Strike that will affect BB. If anything, it will be low ratings being that its against Idol two times a week.

I'm going to stick with my theory that two are voted out on the first episode. Maybe even voted out in the first 5 minutes. Just like they did on
Survivor (pauvre Wanda). That is why there are only 14 spots for photos on the "wall of house guests" when 16 are coming in.

That's what I was thinking too td. A quick eviction of 2 just to kick things off with a bang.

Amen Fluffy Divinity Goodness! It really would shake up both the house and the viewers. Oh wait.....it's GrTROLLdner controlling this shite fest so maybe
not...

There's no way they have room for an eviction on premiere night (the 12th). At least not a live eviction. Between introducing us to the houseguests,
showing them moving in, revealing the twist. etc. there will be no room for an eviction, as well. Unless they just immediately kick out the two people who
perform the worst during the HoH competition. That's a possibility, but it would REALLY suck.
Why give us 16 houseguests just to get rid of two the very first night? It's a waste of time.

It wouldn't be on premiere night. That's Tuesday the 12th. Wed the 13th will be the 2nd night. So I can see it being done.

Let us get to know 'em and CARE about their evictions first. When it happens the second day, it's like, "Meh, I didn't know 'em anyway... who cares?"It's also just another way for them to end the show early. |

I can't help but keep going back to the 14 spots for pictures though. Meh, it could just be a really old photo of the set so I'll reserve judgment.
