CBS screwing with the schedule will only hasten the decline. Another indication of how little Survivor actually matters to Moonves.

Yeah, that's a pretty ridiculous statement, it's not like the NCAA tourney screwing with the spring Survivor schedule is a new thing. It only happens
every single year.

How did it affect the Fiji and Micronesia schedules? I can't seem to remember a hiatus for Micro at least.

Dunno, I don't have every Survivor schedule memorized, but the tourney happens every year, and more often than not it screws with Survivor's schedule
somewhat.

Eh, if someone remembers, great, if someone doesn't, whatever.
I think I recall Fiji having a wednesday episode with a hiatus before the switch episode, but its all vague. |

In case anybody was wondering, here's the numbers from Zap2It for last weeks Survivor-less Thursday night...
"Bones" put FOX on top at 8 p.m. with a 6.3/11. CBS' NCAA tourney coverage finished a close second at 6.1/10 (and led among adults 18-49). "Ugly Betty" drew a 5.2/9 for ABC. "My Name Is Earl" and an "Office" rerun put NBC in fourth, while "Smallville" scored a 2.1/3 for The CW. |

...they always do worse in the ratings so why the fuck move survivor for that shit.

The overnights from Zap2It...
EPISODE 01: 8.1/13 EPISODE 02: 7.9/13 EPISODE 03: 7.1/11 EPISODE 04: 7.1/11 EPISODE 05: 7.4/12 RECAP EPISODE: 5.0/8 Ouch. Oh how I wish they'd go back to doing the recap like they did during Marquesas - Air a regular episode on Thursday, then air the recap as a special bonus episode on Wednesday, then they can bill it as "Survivor Week" like they did back in 2002. For comparisons sake, the Gabon recap was a 4.9/10.

11.6 million viewers is definitely low for Survivor, but that is still better then most shows, and this episode had everything going against it.... it was on a
Wednesday, a stupid recap episode, and it went against the performance episode of American Idol.
I would say that is a pretty good number taking everything into account. |

Yeah, I suppose you're right. It's just frustrating to see that article make THREE separate comments about how 'Survivor' had some of its
lowest ratings ever. Three times!!!

Survivor didn't get 11.6 million viewers; that was CBS's average for the night. Survivor got 8.2 million, which I'm pretty sure is the
least-viewed episode...the only other one in that range is the Gabon recap.
Personally, I actually prefer the more straightforward recaps--China's was awesome, it went through everything that happened but included about 75% new footage. Last night's was more like a tossed-together "Mildly Amusing Crap We Didn't Have Time to Show Before" episode. |
