What Probst has to say really is irrelevent.

If the producers ever hired a woman as a Survivor host, I don't see them hiring any woman under 40 because of the child birth issue. Has a woman ever been hired to host a Reality Show that takes place away from the US? The host(s) for Survivor, TAR, The Mole and Pirate Master were all men. A winners edition won't work for a while now, I don't think. No way would SURVIVOR be able to get him to participate in a show that put him in jail to begin with.

I think he's also smart enough to realize that this is the best lot he's got in life. He's not gonna be well known for anything as much as he is for Survivor. He'll re-up yet again most likely.

TAR ratings are helped by football overruns. The last spring season (TAR All Stars) was the lowest rated of the past 4 seasons. But again I have no idea how accurate those were. Anyhoo, this was at RealityBlurred today: Survivor ratings up, Amazing Race ratings down Survivor Tocantins debut was watched by 13.63 million people. That's up slightly from the 13 million who watched Gabon's debut, and down just a tiny bit from the 13.69 million viewers who watched the debut of Survivor Micronesia about a year ago. CBS calls this "the time period's best viewer delivery since last winter's debut of 'Survivor: Micronesia' and highest adult 18-49 rating since Oct. 23 ('Survivor: Gabon')." The network hasn't yet issued a press release about the debut ratings for The Amazing Race 14, perhaps because of the holiday, or perhaps because they sucked. Although it was a vastly improved premiere episode, just 9.42 million people watched The Amazing Race 14's first hour. That's down from the 10.29 million who watched last fall's premiere, which itself was down from the 12th season's best-ever 13.8 million.
