She can't even do the anthem like Jennifer did for the DNC ? Now I don't even know if she was even doing that. I think it's just rumor but to me she should be able to perform there and not suffer. Hell, plus she's Country not hard rock hippy shit

Having this happen is just bad luck, basically, since most teenagers in this country seem too horny or stupid to bother using birth control. It happens all the time. But if Barack Obama had a 17 year old daughter who was unmarried & pregnant, every racist in the country would be going nuts over it. And Sarah Palin, from the "family values" republican party (who are SO morally superior to democrats, as shown by the all the recent republican congressmen caught taking bribes, fathering illegitimate children, soliciting gay sex, etc), shouldn't get a free pass either. McCain's picking her after ONE 15 minute face to face meeting doesn't show great judgment on his part either. There's no way he would have picked her if he'd known about this--which he would have if he'd bothered to do a background check on her. He's 72 and his VP could easily become president--how can he be so casual about picking someone for the spot?

This year's edition of the Western Washington Fair opens Sept. 5 and runs through Sept. 21. And with its array of animals, rides, midway attractions and big-name performers, it's a destination that can help stretch the ol' entertainment dollar - a trip across the Narrows Bridge notwithstanding.

Carrie Underwood, The Black Crowes, Kid Rock and Fergie are among this year's E-ticket attractions. And just like Disneyland in the old days, those tickets don't come cheap: Fergie's show Sept. 16 packs a top ticket price of $79. You can only guess what you'd pay for all the Black Eyed Peas.

Tickets for the Fair's concert series, though, aren't any higher than what you'd pay to see the artists in other venues, though, and include gate admission - which saves you $10 right there, and puts you within arm's length of one more round of onion burgers, scones and elephant ears before summer officially ends.

The Fair just announced last week that several hundred more tickets for Underwood's concert, which had been declared a sellout, have been released. The extras are expected to be snapped up quickly, too, despite the show's $75 top price.

A rundown of this year's concert series:

McCain speech more watched than Obama

September 05, 2008

The Republican nominee beat Democratic challenger Barack Obama's record-setting convention speech viewership by 500,000.

McCain's address at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night was seen by about 38.9 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. Obama received 38.4 million.

That means McCain's speech is now the most-watched in convention history -- 41% higher than President Bush's acceptance speech four years ago, and 1% higher than Obama's address last week.

Looking at the speech's audience demographics, McCain drew significantly more male viewers than Obama (16.2 million). McCain also drew more white viewers (32.2 million), while Obama was seen by more African Americans.

Though anticipation has been running high for McCain's address, the speech also may have benefited slightly from a strong NFL lead-in on NBC. Initially Republicans feared McCain might have to compete with the game for viewers' attention. But the NFL match started early, then put about 13.6 million viewers on the doorstep of NBC's 10 p.m. coverage of McCain's speech.

Still, NBC has aired the most-watched convention coverage among the broadcaster nets all week, and its numbers compared to rivals were not much different than on previous nights. In other words: the game may have helped, but it wasn't a major factor in McCain's massive viewership (even with the NBC receiving an NFL lead-in, Fox News is expected to win the network-by-network breakdown).

Also, with interest in his running mate Sarah Palin spiking viewership for the RNC on Wednesday, the convention was able to gain some significant momentum after losing its first night to Hurricane Gustav coverage. McCain received 5% more viewers than his running mate.

Fergie's had so much plastic surgery done that it's almost pointless to even discuss what her face looks like, except to note that her expressions often look frozen and unnatural (as in the group shot with the other 3). Her body, however, is smokin' hot!
