I've yet to see one very good LIVE performance of Never Again.
(For comparison sake, she nailed pretty much every LIVE performance of Behind These Hazel Eyes and Because Of You) She should just call it a wrap for this single and bring on single #2. It peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and fell to #12 this week. Quite pathetic for an eagerly anticipated lead single. ______________________ eta: just realized that Kimmel announced the wrong date for the album --- it's july 24, not june 26 Tickets for the "My December" Tour went on sale today! |

The RCA website and Kelly's RCA page still list it as July 24 though. |

Lead single from the third CD failing to do as well in airplay as any of the first five singles from the second album?

Yeah but that's because Paula waited waaaay too long to release her next album. She was always a "flavor of the week" type artist, so once people fell out of love with her, she was doomed. I think that's what happened to J'Lo too as far as music goes.

I've always been a Kelly fan, I have both her albums, but I think Never Again is completely forgettable and unmelodic. I'm not a music expert, obviously, I'm only someone who goes by my tastes, but even after listening to the song several times, I can't remember most of the lyrics or the melody. I'm sure she still wants to be the rock singer, but what seemed fresh on Breakaway now seems formulaic.

I wouldn't judge how well her album will sell just because "Never Again" didn't do as well as past singles.
Some singles haven't even made the top 40 and the albums still managed to sell over a million albums. |

^^ Yep, top honors. "Kelly Clarkson won the ASCAP award for Song of the Year for the song Because Of You. Not too shappy for a song she wrote when she was 16. A song she fought to have on Thankful, and finally won to have on Breakaway. Hodges and Moody also confirmed that Kelly wrote the lyrics and melody.

I for one believe Kelly is an amazing song writer. Yeah, parts
of Never Again are much to be desired, but she's proven before that she can hold a pen and paper to more accomplished singer-songwriters out there. ___________________________________ eta: Never Again debuted at #8 on the VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown this week. ___________________________________ By the way, MAT KEARNY will be opening for Kelly on the My December Tour.
