For Probst, calling Jonathan by his last name rather than his first is a term of endearment.
--------------------- It is Probst's job to sell the show. Remember his "You wont' be disappointed" comment about All Stars which was a total crapfest? |

Coachocd wrote: Yes, but he sounds more enthused when he actually likes the season. With the promotion for Fiji he was always decidedly lukewarm about it (aluding only to the good gameplay that happened post merge, which was true) and dissed EVERY female contestant (barring Michelle/Stacy I think) on the TV Guide preview, thus admitting the casting sucked. With this season he seems genuinely happy with it, which leads me to believe it is a good season. |

Jeff Probst's take on Parvati
''To me Parvati is this season's Amber. Last time, Parvati used her flirting, and it got her a long way. But we didn't really see her do a whole lot more than that, and the question was, what if underneath that she's got a strategy? What if she's figured out how to play this game - could she last long enough to become a threat? Parvati's a question mark. She could be the same thing, come out and giggle a couple times, eat some chocolate cake, and go home. On the flip side, if Parvati's figured out how to play this game, and maybe she teams up with somebody...Could be a matter of perception (but probably not). Sure, Amber won, but comparing Parvati to Amber? I wouldn't say that is very flattering considering the general response to an Amber win. |

She's just on the small list of candidates after SFever's bootsheet and a good edit in episode 1, but she was said to go early by other sources. |

don't know if this has been mentioned
RNO: Do you have anything else you'd like to tell us about your time on Survivor? Mary: Yes, actually. If I wasn't voted off, I might not have met my fiancé, Ryno [Ryan O.] from Pearl Islands . When I got back from Survivor, I was introduced to him by another castmate who was also voted out early. And we were engaged a month later! Our wedding will be in September, with pretty much an all-Survivor cast, we're such good friends. Lex is going to be our minister, Jonny will be one of the best men, Ami will be in the wedding, lots of fun people. That's something we will probably televise, like a Survivor reunion/crazy party/Ryno and I get married. |

Yeah, it's further proof that Ami goes pre-jury.
She was a big fish in a small pond in her original season. This time she's surrounded by big players. |

I dunno Jedi - to me THAT blurb from Jeff actually sounded more positive since there was so much he could have said negatively about her. Let's face it,
she was fodder for massive amounts of criticism; I actually take what Jeff says that Parvarti may surprise some people that she is actually capable of doing
more than shaking her ass.

Well for some/most people, its apparently impossible to objectively look at Parvati. They just dislike her, so they'll look for any way to spin it that
she won't go far.

Joaqenix wrote: True, then there are the people who argue that it's so horrible that Amanda/James/Ozzy and Pavarti are going to more than likely go farther than Ami/Yau/Eliza/ Jonathon. Quite frankly, Jonathon and Ami didn't get that far in the game themselves... And Amanda and Ozzy were never voted out of their seasons. I wouldn't say that Amanda and Ozzy are some undersiving hacks. And beside, Pavarti went farther than Jonathon in her season and just as far as Ami. Jonathon is entertaining, and I do think he is a rational player. But backstabbing everyone in the game like he did in Survivor Cook Islands! Isn't a smart way to play the game. I also think that Eliza is an overrated player. If the men on Eliza's season hadn't self destructed and/or there hadn't been a tribal swap, Eliza would have been out a lot sooner in the game.

At least Ami won immunity comps, she has that on her side, and, people really liked Ami. You can also say that Cirie was never ''voted out'' of
the game.

I think Jeff's "Cirie could do even better than last time" was big. Only way she can do better than last time is if she's in the final 3.
I'm thinking Cirie/Parvati/Alexis final 3. |

ProbstFan123 wrote: So true! Jeff usually wouldn't have made this comment knowing that there are tons of Cirie fans out there... if she were to go early that is... but the
"better than last time" comment necessarily doesn't have to mean that she places better than last time... it could also mean that she starts
playing the game much earlier and also starts becoming a leader of an alliance rather than a follower earlier on.... But this comment definitely cuts out
theories that Cirie goes home early... b/c before EI started Jeff said something like "People will be really rooting for Cirie"--- which wouldn't
make sense if she went home early...

Terrywins wrote: Yau-Man probably does worse then Jonathan/Eliza/Ami in the challenges. If Cire goes to the couple's alliance and insists that she picks the boot she might pick Yau-Man. Cire/Yau-Man both the wiser older person and Cire could be threatened by that. Just speculating why she would join the couple's alliance if she is the swing vote. They still want to win as many immunity challenges as possible before the merge. |
