A month or so ago, I put together this list of words and translations for my own amusement. This isn't a spoiler, obviously. It's simply a list of words I've come across while learning about Palau. Maybe a couple of them will turn up on a Survivor flag, and then again, maybe not. Suóbel means 'to survive', 'survival' I couldn't find an English/Palauan dictionary on the Internet, but the Airai site has a number of pages with translations: Arrival, greetings, navagation words, phrases www.pacificworlds.com/palau/arrival/lang1.cfm Words about the sea: www.pacificworlds.com/palau/sea/lang3.cfm People, family members, class structure, domestic geography www.pacificworlds.com/palau/native/lang2.cfm Agriculture, environment , landscape www.pacificworlds.com/palau/land/lang4.cfm Storytelling, supernatural beings www.pacificworlds.com/palau/stories/lang5.cfm Greetings and administration words www.pacificworlds.com/palau/visitors/lang6.cfm History www.pacificworlds.com/palau/memories/lang7.cfm These are the 16 states (municipalities) of Palau: Aimeliik Airai Angaur Hatohobei Kayangel Koror Melekeok Ngaraard Ngarchelong Ngardmau Ngatpang Ngchesar Ngeremlengui Ngiwal Peleliu Sonsorol The Rock Islands are called Chelbacheb. Eil Malk is another name for Mercherchar Seventy Islands Preserve is called Ngerukeuid. The most populated islands are Angaur, Babeldaob, Koror, and Peleliu. A Bai is a sacred longhouse Udoud are Palauan money beads (very important.. not just money) The big stone Yap 'coins' quarried during WWII are called 'rai', 'fei' and baláng Beaches and islands off limits during the filming were: NGEREMDIU NGEREMDIU BEACH LITTLE NGEREMDIU BEACH NGCHUS BEACH NGEREBLOBONG BEACH NGEBUSECH BEACH ULONG BEACH KMEKUMER But if someone were to ask me to speculate on tribal names, I'd say: A war canoe from Ngiwal state, so "Ngiwal" would make a good name for a tribe. (I've never heard anyone say the word, but I think it's pronouced something like "near-a-wall".) If I were Mark Burnett, I might name the tribes after famous WWII battle sites in Palau, eg., Peleliu, Airai and Anguar (and Koror). SEG always promises to promote the host country's tourist attractions, and tour operators in Palau offers tours to Peleliu. But if I REALLY got to choose, I'd name the tribes Babeldaob and Ngereblobong because I'm dying to hear Jeff Probst say those words!

First of all her mouth is on her chin, secondly, her eyes are on her forhead and are small... her nose is tiny and long. And because of her mouth being on her chin, there is a large gap inbetween her nose and mouth. It's as if someone moved the eyes up and moved the mouth down, then stretched the nose to cover the distance. It looks like someone shot her in both sides of her face with a BB gun. But then I decided she looked more like the Grinch. Probably behaves more like the Grinch as well. I was gonna say that her eyes are much too far away from her mouth. Yikes !! Danielle rides again! Hey, you guys better not being saying anything negative about my Natalie! I discovered her, and I can take her back! Anyway, personally I think she looks DAMN FINE in those pics. Definitely one of hottest Survivor babes of all time. Plus she's supposedly a big fan, so that just makes her that much hotter : )

Thank you for the lesson on pronunciation! hagiz1, I can't find anything online about the word " Uroluk" in relation to Palau. Zep, my avatar is a Hawaiian petroglyph of a war canoe. Survivor Boy, maybe the names are as simple as Fans and Favorites. The only argument against using those names would be that eventually the contestants will merge or maybe SEG will mix them up at some point. Considering the use of the war canoes, the theme this time must be an island warrior theme. (The first S-Palau had a WWII theme). I did a little research this morning and most of names of warriors in ancient stories would be tough for Probst to shout out during a challenge. The ceremonial war canoes were borrowed from the states of Ngiwal and Ariai, so maybe the tribal names are in honor of those states. That's a guess, not a spoiler, and it is probably wrong. The cast will be announced in Entertainment Weekly tomorrow. Maybe we'll learn the tribal names, too!

That harbor has been "Home" to the crew and producers for two shows. They might name a tribe in honor of the harbor they've grown to love. My final guesses: Malakal - the harbor where base camp is located Airai - war canoe Ngiwal - war canoe
