I almost had a car accident the first time I drove past the Atlanta Civic Center and saw the projection sign outside which showcases this 'event' every 5 minutes 24 hours a day. They are already doing six shows here, and radio rumor has it that demand might have them add another matinee! WTF?

I have in the past been more partial to the "Mama," genre of stage plays, like:

"Mama, Who Burnt Up Da Chicken?"
"Mama, Don't Take My Man!"
"Mama, Why Didn't My Perm Take?"

since they delve more into the matriarchal gestalt of the stereotypical African American psyche. But this endeavor which strives to encapsulate the patriarchal dimension seems quite innovative and refreshing. Plus anyone who can pretend to have feelings for Flava Flav has GOT to be a tremendous actress!

Let's see now: even the play advertisements admit that Cynda Williams' 'career' peaked seventeen years ago with "Mo Better Blues" in 1990. Carl Thomas' last album came out in June 2007 and has sold a whopping 58,037 copies over the last six months. And J Anthony Brown is probably just happy to be there. So does this mean that Deelishis has TOP BILLING for the show? Once again... WTF?
